I wanted to throw out this topic for discussion seeing as how groups are apparently going to play such a large role in the upcoming Combat Upgrade [edit to: CU]. I don't know if it has already been discussed and put to bed, but I think it should be brought back. If there are any posts that are relevant to this concept, could someone throw in a couple of clickys.
Okay, basically, the concept I have in mind is that small groups should be able to combine to form larger groups without having to disband one or the other. I.e. a group of 5 and a group of 10 meet and want to go hunting. There is currently no mechanism for the two group leaders to have their groups "join forces" so to speak, and combine the two groups.
Personally, I think this concept would have wide ranging benefits across all kinds ofprofessionencountersfrom entertainer bands to PvP base raids to scout hunting. It would allow two groups to combine "on the fly" as it were instead of having people stop, find group leaders, travel to different planets, etc...
Let's start up the conversation and see where it takes us.
Cheers.

Right now in the Combat Upgrade, groups are limited to 8 people instead of the current 20. Personally I very much like the idea of smaller groups for combat as they are easier to get together to go hunting. However, I do also very much like the idea of "raid" groups in which you could combine 2 groups of 8 to form a raiding party for high end areas like the Death Watch Bunker and the like.
I'm hoping they add that in at some point.
