I think the occasional inability to have all group members be online at the same time can be handled, perhaps by playing out that one character sleeps or is sick or has a date or something.

(I hope this isn't considered an ad ... I asked myself whether to post this on the roleplaying forum, but I figured it might be well placed here. I'm sorry if you think it doesn't belong here and if that is the case I'd like to apologize in advance.)

After playing this evening I had an idea how I could improve my SWG experience. Now I'd like to know if it's an original idea, or if others had it before me. If so, please let me know how they succeeded ...

Here, my actual idea is about playing as a party, ie having 4-6 people each create a new character on the same server and play together as a party, always. Personally I'd favor a real roleplaying party, with some people who think up a good background for the group and who want to get most out of SWG. There are various ways to do the partying, I'm currently thinking of parties whose members really split up functions instead of anyone trying to be the best fighters, ie having warriors and artisans, docs and entertainers. I guess it would be really great if JtL were included, a Millennium Falcon freighter just has to be there, I think. And perhaps two of the party pilot a fighter as an escort. I would also like to play a real story, like for instance being criminals who find admiration for the imperials or the rebels and over time join their cause, or for instance being totally into the wildlife and having the aim of creating a zoo or so. One of the party could be a Jedi, as I think when all were Jedis it would be overkill.

So, has anyone done this before, specifically with role-playing intent? I'd like to know.

Since it really pertains to how individual people want to play, I'd suggest trying to post it on your galaxy forum to see if you can find anyone who would be interested or perhaps on a galaxy you don't normally play on to try to find some interested people.

It's an interesting idea though, but it's all dependant on finding the people who would take up all the roles and are willing to start fresh.

Thanks for the suggestion. It seems the idea has some substance. I'll post it on the Galaxies.

(I'm at Ahazi in the moment, and it doesn't seem so much about roleplaying there. If you can recommend the best role-playing server please tell me, I'd be thankful.)

I hear Tarquinas has a pretty good roleplaying base from some friends of mine who spent some time there, I can say that my server doesn't have much so I wouldn't recommend Kauri for you.

Starsider was *supposed* to be the unofficial roleplaying server, but it didn't end up that way. I'd just ask on a few various galaxies and see what the people who play there tell you.

I might be interested in joining a group of roleplayers, but am disinclined to start fresh on a server. Let me know what server you decide to play on. My main server is Lowca where I am a rodian mayor active in the Rebellion. On Bria I play a tusken raider (half - on his father's side) human. On Bloodfin, I roleplay a "what if I were in the Star Wars universe" character based on me. I have some other characters but not played much, but doesn't mean I want to get rid of them either. Let me know what server you want to use and I'll let you know if I can help out with the atmosphere.
