I really think a Guild has to be formed that resembles the Real Star Wars. A guild with a respected Jedi Council, citizens and a senate. One were the senate finds jobs for the jedi and the jedi will seek out. Jedi would be so much more fun if they had mandates and investigations to fallow up with! IF citizens could elect Senators. PvP Roleplay and everything would be so much better!

I'm sure there are guilds out there that are set up similiar to that. You could check the galaxy forums if you're trying to look for one. I know that my own guild was set up with a very similiar set up for a while, our Senate was elected by the guild, we had our Jedi division, and such. It's really hard to do in a lot of cases though so we ended up just easing off and concentrated more on having fun.

Rothin hit it on the head. The trick is to find the balance of RP and fun. If you go to hard on RP, your guild will be small as most people won't find RPing fun. Then you back off and people leave because they don't find purpose in the guild.

I don't think that this game is the place for a Jedi Council or a Senate. Both don't exist in this time frame, but to each his own . I went down the path of a rebel military guild. To get players to do guild events to help the rebellion, I created a guild badge system where we create missions for our guild members to accomplish, when they complete them, they get a badge. The badge system then translates into our rank system. Members can be part of the guild without doing these missions, but then they stay at a low rank. Most people will want to be promoted, giving them purpose in the guild, so they do the missions.

Some missions are simple, like collect a specific piece of loot, or credit drives. Other missions are more involved and may include a group. As an example, my guild with 8 others destroyed 10 PvE bases this weekend. Everyone in my guild receieved a badge and some were promoted.

I personally think that this system can work for my guild because it provides the balance. Players can do there own thing and have fun, but also can partake in a ranking system that makes them feel like part of the guild, and the rebel military.

Such an Idea can work if those members of the guild want it to. It sounds like a fun idea. My guild is ran a bit more free. Though we do have ranking officers in the guild they are there to decide major changes or issues within the guild. They are also there to keep things organized such as guild hunts and merchant business. But for the most part we don't make any of our guild mates do anything besides be rebel (if they have a combat class). We do at least guild hunts on a weekly basis including space faction grinding. We pvp but not everyone is into pvp so we don't make them or ask them to come when we do. Its a game and everyone should enjoy what they are doing in it.
