Thread: How can a guild leader leave the guild without disbanding it?

There are two options to do this. The first is to run an election for your guild and allow them to elect a new guild leader which would require you to stay in the guild for 2 weeks, then when they picked a new leader you could use /guildremove.
On the other hand, the quicker method, would have to have the person you want to be leader come with you to the guild terminal, and use the Manual Transfer Leadership option under member management. Type their name exactly as they did (caps and lowercase) and make sure they have 5 free lots on their characters(regardless of whether they will/do own the guild hall or not.)
Then once it transfers (should be instant) you can use /guildremove self.

I recomend waiting till after the patch, else u risk running into one of the many bugs asociatyed with the terminal at present.

If you go the election route, then yes I'd recommend waiting as well. I haven't heard of any issues with the manual transfer process though. And since patch is tomorrow, even if it starts an election you would be able to cancel it well before it ended (since even at the earliest its about 3-4 days long)
