You guilds out there that have websites up and message boards. Can you refer me to any free or inexpensive yet good hosts?

I of course want to have admin on the forums, and possibly have th use of a couple Email addys.

Thanks for your help.

We like our forums boards. Our forums are rsetarq.proboards42.com. And they did just update all their sites to an even better format.

But I am also in the same boat as you. I have been looking for a nice webhosting service that I could run for our guild/city. I want something thats is easy on the eyes, but thats easy on my brain too So I'd love to see some suggestions too!

www.guildportal.com is quit good and free. You can have quite few forums and 10 topics on each forum. You have full admin rights, you can choose diffrent skins each member has a internal mail thing and it has quite a few other interesting features. So i would recommend checking it out. Also you can get more topics on the forum and change the Address to your guild name. My guilds is: www.guildportal.com/guild.aspx?guild=19207 if you paid £30 ery 6 months you could have the address as www.Illuminati.com or something to that effect so check it out. Hope that helps.

Guild Portal rocks ...

<-----(follow my PA link to see ours, well trafficked but short on a good designer)

...but the free version is somewhat restrictive. At $30 for six months, I find the paid version is pretty affordable.

My guild also uses guildportal, worked pretty well for us so far. Our site is sbg.guildportal.com.

If you're looking for your own domain & space, I always refer people to the host I use, Barron Hosting. I use them for multiple sites, including our guild site. Great service, reasonable rates, and he can handle domain registration for you, as well.

Nuke is a great and versatile engine to use for creating web pages and great for guilds. We use Ihosting, but they have run into some isp problems in the last few weeks, causing the site to be laggy at times, we may move if it is not fixed, but the server company claims to be working on it. I recomend Nuke-PHP for your engine, but have no solid recomendation for a server company.
