Thread: Guild Issues
BUG: Due to the above, elections are being started for each guild hall in the guild. The leader must disable the election once for each Hall. They will also be sent out a new email per guild hall to the guild with leader not active within a few hours and the elections will be re-enabled.
BUG: Guild Management Terminals are not "uniform" they can hold and maintain seperate elections and voting lists which can cause chaos.
BUG: Manual Leadership transfers require 5 free lots. It should not check for lots since the leader is not required to own the Guild Hall.
BUG: Manual Leadership: When transfering leadership you must type both first and last name case sensitive of the person who will be the leader. This is different from all other processes that require the name to be typed. It should only require the first name and in lowercase.
BUG: Elections: Elections are not counting the right number of votes. In many elections incumbant (inactively case votes) are being counted for the old, inactive guild leader resulting in him retaining leadership. This needs to change.
BUG: When no one registers to run, the guild will sometimes randomly pick someone to become the new leader. *BIG* issue.
The above are the biggest issues coming to mind.. please in the thread below follow my format and list any GUILD bugs you have.
BUG: Description.
I will report all of these to the Devs again.

Rothin, from my point of view, guild elections is heavily broken, and due to the CU bugs, I doubt we will get any love soon. Can you ask the devs to just turn off guild elections until they can fix it to work properly. It is obviously causing grief to guilds that didn't need the system (though I know it helped with the inactive leader issue).
So, just have them disable guild elections until they can get it working properly on TC.

I would do that.. except if I did, it's likely it'd never come back or be looked at again. With it causing issues, it's more likely to be fixed.

It has been broken for more then 2 weeks. Unless you can tell us that publish 17 has a fix for this (I didn't see it in the patch notes) then it is unacceptable for guilds to break like this. People are becoming guild leaders at random, multiple guild halls spawn multiple elections. What SOE should do, is leave it on TC so it can be worked on but take it out of live. IMO, it is a completly useless feature unless it works. It doesn't work so get rid of it until it can be made to work. Your argument is like saying that your computer logs into a different user because of some new user management feature, but it is best to leave that feature in so that it can be fixed. I would much rather it never be worked on again then remain in this broken state for a few months.Guild leadership ran smoothly for over a year and a half, now it is getting messed up. The only people affected were leaderless guilds, but CSRs should be able to fix that.
I'm just telling you the reality of how things work. If we asked for everything to be taken out that didn't work, the game would be shut down before long. It just needs to be fixed, bottom line. It is completely unacceptable to be like this and that's what I'm pointing out to them.
Now, please, stay on topic in this thread so it serves its purpose. Thanks.
It looks as if a couple of guilds on Chim have had random members selected as leader.
I have let the elections run for a couple of weeks and only turned off disable today, so it seems safe to do this. I have sent a guild mail round asking all members to /bug when they get the elections enabled mail round again.
I agree it needs to be fixed not shut off.
This is on topic Rothin. We are discussing guild issues. I am not asking for everything that doesn't work in the game to be taken out. Only something that they put in that is affecting every single guild in this entire game back on to TC. If it never comes back, that is still better then what we have now. Do other guild leaders feel the same way? Should we have this feature removed until it is fixed on TC? If we have a majority in agreeing on this, you will have to make that requrest to the devs. If I am alone, then I will not push this further.

Well, sure hope it comes back someday and doesn't end up like the master politician box. The specializations supposed to be granted there never worked, so the devs just took them away. The master politician box remains empty to this day.
*crosses fingers*
"null" is our leader now.
soon, "abstain" will be mayor.
*sigh*
In other news...When I sponsor someone into the guild (assuming that I will soon be guildleader again) I would like the option of making guildchat available to that person...so we an comm better and get to know them before voting on their membership.
Thank you for all your hard work.
