Thread: Guild War Loot; Using GCW Faction Points

Hello All,

In Pvp encounters i suspect players on UO or Lineage get touchy when their uber weapon or item (currency) is looted from them. In SWG it should be no different, but what if for those who are factioned in the GCW (Galactic Civil War) and are in a PA war be allowed to loot your Pvp enemies faction points. (opposite faction only)

So for example an Imperial PA that is having a guild / PA war with a Rebel PA. When a Rebel player death blows in Pvp an Imperial covert or overt player. Where they will either need to manually (or autoloot / autosplit if grouped)loot the GCW faction points from their Pvp victim. So this Rebel player will loot randomly an amount of any unspent and collected faction points of this Imperial player. Now you say what good are Imperial faction points to an Rebel player? Well what if during the Pvp looting of these faction points that they'll be automatcially converted to your faction.

Where this Rebel PA player that lootedhis/her PKed Imperial PA player that they're in a PA war with (this can also be a feature beyond PA wars too) will get a random amount of converted loot faction points.

This will surely spice up Pvp encounters whether in the battlefields or in the regular game world.

What do you folks think?

why do all that when you already get FP from deathblowing them?
loot the armor, loot the weapons, loot the credits

That would more likely kill pvp than help it.

ok if you stole all my money when i died in PvP then i would not PvP that is just insane. lol "yeah i just killed a longtime master weaponsmith and i looted him and i got 15million credits" why would ANYONE PvP? that is too much risk. and people dont want to lose all that they had in PvP to some exploiter or a stray at-st.

Hello Charb,

Yup, your right i don't Pvp much at all, although in my PvE i'm already getting those 30-40 FP's against GCW npc's.

Jascentia, do we know if we gain regular skill exp during Pvp encounters? If so, maybe add random bonuses to experience gains in Pvp fights, including PA guild wars. On the TC i know those that do hand sampling whilst surveying have random popup windows asking if they use 300 action points. That they can sample / harvest by hand a larger amount of inorganics. Following that train of random bonuses, it could apply to various ways in Pvp combat. For example a special skill move thatgives a zeroHAM usage event. Like for a pistoleer to use body shot 3 without draining his action pool, etc..

Another example besides bonus modifiers in skill experience during pvp combat, is data disks that besides npc's dropping these. That inPK player encounters whilst looting the player you get random loot according to the difficulty range of the downed player. For example, does it seriously have to be a existing credit or equipment item on a player to be considered as loot? Why not continue the practice of random loot that is generated by npc's to be carried over to death blowed players. Where the death blowed player receives so penalty in generating radom loot like a npc.

Also, the idea i had above with data disks being looted from death blowed PA guild war players. Is that would appear as loot, where the data disks would be treasure maps. According to the skill professions of thedeath blowedplayer that was looted this disk from would be treasure caches. Not, the current type of cheesy treasure caches either that is generated by npcs to date either. Again these treasure caches would be considered as random loot generated by the game, and not a penalty in loot from the death blowed player in PvP combat.

I am interested in there being rewards for Guildwar kills. However, it is a delicate balance because you don't want to discourage those wars from happening. What if you could loot a small % of the credits on hand? (ie. 5%, so if someone was carrying 100k on their person you would loot 5k).

This could lead to keeping more money in the bank... or bad things like bank camping though. *ponders*

Just tossing out some thoughts. All feedback welcome.

In PvP you should be able to loot money on hand of your victim. Of course then, everyone would just dump all their money into a bank, but it'd still give the benefit of a few credits every now and then when some idiot forgets to put all his credits in the bank...
