Thread: An Idea for PA tatoos/Crests...
How about customizable guild crests turned into tatoos? These would be customizable by the guild leader and could be retrieved from the guild terminal by guild members. They retrieve a schematic of sorts from the guild terminal. Then they go to an Image Designer who then tatoos it on a shoulder, chest or back.
The tatoo would of course be automatically removed once you retire from the guild.
This idea could go to many of the crafting professions. There could be paintings with the crest made by architects. There could be emblems available to put on vehicles by master Artisans. There could be options to be applied to clothing by tailors.

On your first idea, I would suggest lobbying it with Jascentia on the Player Association Forum (off of the Professions index for some reason). It sounds like it could spread over to other professions other than Image Design, and has certainly come up often enough in the past to warrant bringing up to the devs (that is the idea of having guild emblems). At the very least something like Daoc's system woudl be nice wehre there are pre determined emblems and colors to choose from![]()
I could go for predetermined crests, but there are hundreds of PAs on every server. You would need a lot of them. Perhaps make about 50 different pieces and allow guilds to put them together as a customization. Then once a format has been taken by a guild, it is no longer available? This would help with lag. If the emblem is fully customizable, that would be a lot of little different graphics sitting in front of the coronet starport. But then again, if it was fully customizable, there is always the /report option if someone puts something obscene. My only concern with pre-determined either fully pieced crests or sectional customization crests is whether you would have enough designs to cover the many guilds on each server. I know I would not want to create a guild crest and find out later that it is the same crest as an enemy guild.
Kwee, I believe, is the correspondent for the ID profession. He/she is the one that told me to come here and post the ideas about guild crests and tatoos, etc...as seen above. What is everyone's thought here? Perhaps we can capture the attention of the DEVs.
Thanks.

hehe I seen you post this on the ID forums. I am an Image Designer as well and this was originally my idea first and posted on the ID forums long before yours, but I am not going to bash it rather support it. I already have a petition on just such an idea in the "Core Systems" forums which seem to be the forums for suggesting new content via petitions you all should check that thread out and sign my petition. A Link is in my signature. And just so we dont get it pretzel-like in here I shall post the link to my original thread on the ID forums which proposed the idea as so many used to say whenever Devs would post something "first" HERE
Hey I take it as a compliment though you know what they say "Great minds think alike" hehe, my comp is broken at the moment, but it seems we might be able to see what other intersting ideas we can discuss, yes? I use my hotmail account for both email and msn messenger if you feel like chatting about awesome new ideas regarding SWG, my passport is [email protected] add me

Is anyone ever "really" first? How can one possibly know if one is really first to submit an idea in an active community? ![]()
Nonetheless, this suggestion is on the list. But before we can talk about how it would be implemented and what role Image Designers would play we need to find out if it is possible with the limited time the devs have before the Space Expansion.
It was more to do with your self important, egotismthat you HAD to point it out that you came up with the idea first /sigh
And as for hologrinding. If me re-rolling my character every night for the sake of making NPCs for my RP community makes me a hologrinder, then I should get my FS slot much quicker than I thought.
