Thread: Why do people keep trying to group without explaining?
why do they do that? what are they trying to achieve? I admit I'm pretty new to the game, and maybe it's a really noob-ish thing to ask, but it just seems rude to attempt to create a group without even explaining the purpose first. It's also slightly confusing!

Most of the time, I'll just ignore it and click no.
If it's the examine problem, then that might actually be the case! we're still kinda rare..

its to do with solo groups. even though they have been nerfed and its more profitable to just go out hunting solo some folks still want to solo group.
I guess its because of the slight xp gain you get from being grouped.

This happens to me a lot - I'm wandering around a city, going from A to B, when the 'soandso wants to group' box appears. I look around, and there's usually some guy just standing there. hasn't said anything to me in spatial or a tell, isn't spamming anything.. I click 'no' and they run off without saying anything.

Welcome to SWG. Forget any past ettiquette you might have learned in another game, much of that is missing here. See, players in this game are on this one track grind to uberity, and by having you in their group that benefits them personally, but has nothing to do with your enjoyment. I came from EQ and slowly had to accept this backasswardstyle. Its sad actually but you learn to eventually enjoy a life of solo. I suggest you do what i do and put them all on auto reject because 99% of them are not interested in social or co-op play with you, they just get a bonus by having you in theirsologroup and I'm not trying to accelerate any pos grinder to their uber states. Sending tells before group invite and just beingun-uberly social in general is basicly a forein concept here.
PS. There is a sollution to having social play. Its to make a very slim female toon, human, twilek or zabrak (ugh, Zabrak chix..) Dance a little the cantina, you'll have your social play real quick, if you can stomach it.
