I bring this issue before you so that I can go to my membership with sound advice and clear conscience.

Situation: PA Leader AWOL >1 month No one willing or able to give permissions ot other guild members. Compund on this recent upheval with moving our city and some members lost.

The guild has appointed me to be the new titular PA leader. However I cannot perform any guild funtions as before the upheval I was a new recruit (adversity brings out the best I guess). We tried Set Alliegance but it did not work. I have enough trouble getting them to vote for me as mayor (which they wanted me to do as well), I feel anymore cajooling to vote/set alliegance will turn out worse than hearding cats. Further complication to Set alliegance: I have 5+ new recruits who have been patiently waiting for a new leader so they can be admittedto the guild (no one even has the ability to do that, we really were decapitated) and I fear that 2-3 weeks of Set Alliegance will halt all recruiting efforts, lose us ore waiting recruits and do irreprable harm to the guild.

Solution One (in progress): We disbanded the PA hall in the hopes that it would disband the guild after 5 days or so. That way we could restart the new guild and keep our old name and acronym. From reading here I understand that this plan is flawed and lack of a PA will not disband the guild.

Solution Two: I leave guild and plant a new PA Hall. Start new guild. Active members of old guild join new guild, we move on with our lives.

Solution Two has met with resistance if for no other reason than sentiment.

I put this to you for a difinitve answeron whether or notSolution One is flawed. That way I can go back to my guild and say. "We have no choice but to proceed with Solution Two"

Thank you.

I only come with bad news unfortunately. The PA won't disband with the hall gone. The only way that happens is if the leader (or someone with the permission) disbands it or it drops below 5 members. If you can't get enough people to set allegiance, then I would suggest starting a new PA. I hate to say it, but it's probably you're only option if you can't get enough people to vote.

Even a CSR won't be able to change the leadership. Best of luck to you. Keep us updated.

Can't you link PA halls? if this is true cant you plant another PA hall, link them then let the old one die? Thus making the owner of the new PA hall the leader?

Yes, you can link PA halls that will tie into the guild as well, but that doesn't effect who is the leader at all. The current leader still stays leader until he's voted out.

if there's only resistance for sentiment reasons, then solution 2 seems like the way to go. you can always change back to the original name once the other guild fades.

We had a situation like this where the guild leader and founder both stopped playing and there was only one person left who could actually still accept people into the guild. A new guild was formed and everyone still pleying went to this guild. It worked out okay except that we had a little mutiny and such.. that guild ended up getting disbanded and I had to start my own. So I would suggest that if you can just start your own guild and have everyone go to you.

you and your members were decapitated?

j/k

I think your best bet will be to reform the guild. If enough ppl leave and the membership drops below 5 you will have access to your acronym again.
