Hi guild leaders and members:

I received an e-mail from a writer from Future Networks a few days ago. Future Network USA, formerly Imagine Media, built its success on a strategy of "passion": serving markets where there is a thirst for expert knowledge and advice. Based in the San Francisco Bay Area, Future Network USA publishes 12 consumer titles, which sell in excess of 2.2 million copies per month.

Future Network USA is part of The Future Network Plc, which was founded in the UK in 1985. Today, The Future Network publishes over 90 specialist consumer magazines worldwide and is the world's leading publisher of computer games magazines. Future employs around 1,000 people in offices in the US, UK, Italy and France. Over 80 international editions of Future's magazines are also published in 28 other countries across the world. The company is listed on the London Stock Exchange (symbol FNET).

Below is a copy of the e-mail I received:

I am working on a story about Player Associations in SWG, and I was wondering if you could answer the following questions for me:

What are the Daedalus Guild titles and ranks, what are their responsibilities, and what are the names of the player characters who hold those titles for your Guild now?

What are your Rules of Engagement?

In some places, I see that you have a limit of 50 players, and in others it is shown as 75 players. Is 75 the current limit?

Who wrote your fun and informative FAQ page?

Who is responsible for updating all those great screen shots and videos that you have?

Can you give me any quotes from the Guild leader or other members that I might be able to use? Either funny quotes, or quotes about what they like about your Guild would be great.

Thank you very much for your help with this.

I had responded to the writers e-mail and received the following confirmation:

Leo - (Atra)

Thank you so much for responding so quickly, and with so much great information. I haven't gotten confirmation yet that the story I'm working on will be published at all, hehe, so there isn't a lot of information I can give you about that right now. I will keep in touch, though, and I'll let you know more about when (and if) it will be published when I know more. I should have a better idea in about 3 weeks or so. Keep your fingers crossed that those who live in Editing Land think your PA is as interesting as I do.

I'm curious to know if anyone else got an e-mail and let me know about their correspondence? I think this is very exciting.

This would be fantastic if some SWG guilds got into PC Gamer.

That should be an interesting article, if it's ever published. Player Associations are one of SWG's best features, and the reason many people continue to stay in the game (myself included). It should be fun to see what spin the writer puts on the piece.

Well said, I doubt most of us would still be around if it wasn't for our Guilds. The e'spirit de corps can withstand more than any lone individual. For me it has become a family and I value it beyond price, but then maybe I'm just a big softie.

im not trying to be an ass here, but why your guild out of teh thousands of guilds in swg across all the servers? with the direct response hinting it probably wont get published. sounds to me more like somebodys just trying to fish for your guild info or messing with you. of course i could very well be wrong, but tahts what it sounds like to me.
