This post probably belongs in the architect forum, but as I am a PA leader and have 9 lots tied up into a PA hall, I feel it mostly affects PA leaders so I will post my idea here.
Storage space in a PA hall has been a big issue for PA leaders since the first month of the game. I personally don't have a complaint on the 250 item cap on a building, but with a 250 item cap, that barely is enough to properly furnish a PA hall. Player housing was a very neat idea that has been a huge success in MMORPGs. When I walk into the average home in SWG, I find it an empty shell. Sometimes you will see loot scattered on the floor or backpacks on the wall, but houses are primarily used for storing items.
My idea is to have a second storage stat for a house/PA hall which is for furnature only (items that have no stats and cannot be used for anything other then display). This will allow people to place furniture in there houses to make the house look nice, and not have to be concerned about wasting storage space. If the devs are truely concerned with storage space, they can even lower the storage space for the "stored items" by 75% or something so that houses are used more for show then for storage (while not completly losing there storage capabilities).
I know that as a PA leader, I spend most of my storage in the PA hall for decorations and it hurts me quite a bit. I use a factory to get my additional 100 storage. In total, I only get 450 storage to myself (PA hall, safety deposit box and 1 factory), and that is if I don't furnish my PA hall. This has been a plea from all PA leaders but I am hoping that this idea may show some merit and get implemented at some point in the future.

It is a nice idea, but I'm not sure how much programming time that would take to do that. Considering you'd be splitting storage into two different types and assigning all the items that would then count as furniture(since there are other items that display only). The lots/storage for PAs has been a big issue for us like you said and it's one Jas has been pushing for a while.
The new Vendor changes is the first step in them trying to get the storage situation under control since having limits will free up space for other places, like houses, to store more. It isn't a guarentee, but it's a hope we all have. We probably won't see anything come about until after JTL and the Combat revamp though, since their schedule is filled up with those tasks, but maybe in the future. We've made it this long, we can manage until they're able to devote some time to us.

Personally, I don't care how much programming is involved. It is two things that need to be addressed. A) PA leaders get screwed. B) homes are nothing more the glorified warehouses. My idea fixes this, at least a little and I hope the devs consider it. I am sure that there are many possibilities that can improve things (like storage being a function of lots which it should be) but at least they should commit to something.

The point I'm trying to make is that the more programming time an item takes, the less likely it will be addressed in the near future. A lot of things need to be addressed in the game and the ones that require more time to fix (aka program) are going to be lower priority since they can improve a lot of smaller things in the time frame that it takes to do one large thing.
Right now, their entire development schedule is occupied by the Combat Revamp. Nothing will get addressed until that is completely finished since it is going to effect the entire game and how its played. If we want to see things happen, we need to think of ways to ask for items to be changed that do not require a lot of time to fix, so that maybe they can be addressed sooner.
As I said, I like the idea and would like to see it done. I just know it won't happen for months becuase of the time it would take to code into the game.

Again, your comments have nothing to do with the idea. I have spent enough time arguing with people on whether this can be done or this is too hard for the devs to do. It is not up to us to determine wether something is hard or easy, and we shouldn't be wasting time trying to figure out what can be done and what can't. Instead we should come up with the ideas and let the devs figure that out. My post was commenting on a solution to a known problem. If you have a comment on the actual solution (ie ways of making it better or a different solution) then I am very interested.
As for the devs time. We are all well aware that PAs will pretty much see no dev time for at least 8 months.

I tend to agree with the original poster. We need to say what it is we would like or enjoy...the devs then can figure out how long it will take, priority etc. For people not to ask for something just because it would be hard is wrong.
Personally, I don't see how this would necessarily be hard at all. Factories have input hoppers that give a storage functionality. This "front-end" could be bonded to the menu's of the PA hall, the inventory would be tagged appropriately for this new status so as not to subtract from the structure allottment. Might have to change some labels on the Input Hopper screens dynamically to fit the contect of the PA Hall and voila -- done. Add this feature to all housing/PA with varying allotments and think of all the people you would make happy. Certainly would make me happier than the time they spent making it require an ID to do stat migration...now I imagine that took some work.

It would be nice if they had a storage hopper of sorts located in one of the rooms where you could drop 100 items or whatever. They are making it so you can add items to chests and stuff that arches can make, why not make a craftable add on for pa halls? 100 item limit, can only be placed in a pa hall, one per hall or something. I know 100 items isn't a lot to a guild, but it'd be a good start. It might be tricky coding, I dunno.

Yeah, adding a craftable to allow more than the max probably would be tricky, but not impossible. Just would take more time than any one dev could give us if they see it. With the Vendor changes and the upcoming purge for 6 month expired accounts, they're trying to free more space for JTL and hopefully they'll think about upping storage a little around then too.

The vendor change has been in for a few weeks now, and they must have cleared up a lot of database space that was taken up before. A quick fix that takes no programming time is maybe raise the 250 capto 400. The total number of item spaces that will be created (large houses, PA halls, cantinas etc) will be a lot less than the number of items recently deleted as a result of the vendor change.
