Right. i've got the board set up and am road testing it with some members of my guild and i've come up against a problem: Can u give people titles and not depending on how many post they have in the forum because i would like to give my guild 'officers' a title.

I didnt post this in the invision power boards help forum because it said my user name didnt exist and i know it does. (i logged out then back into my board just to check)

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I use the same board. As far as titles go, only way I found was to go into the AdminCp and modify each users profile.The User profile has a field for member titles. I use it to give Officers titles such as "Recruiter, Hunt Leader, etc..". There is no promotion for post optionthat effects title that I know of, only group promotion based on posting. I do however have seperate permission mask and group defined that is for Officers only. This allows me to give them some abilities on each forum that is different from probationary or regular members.

i clicked on AdminCp and then user Profiles and all i see is 'settings' User profile & options, avatars and guest permissions. none of these allow me to give seperate members title's. Is this the right place for it???

I wish I could help but I've never used Invision. I've always used phpBB for things or wrote the script myself. I'm sure someone here will be able to help though, just giving you a small bump of sorts.

You may want to try signing up for a new account to get help in the main board for software, that will be the best source. And I believe it's free software so you should be able to sign up as many times as you like (though probably a different email each time). Hope that might help a little.

Here is the steps in Order (using IPB version 1.3 board)

1. AdminCp

2. Users & Groups

3. Find/Edit/Suspend User

4. Use member quick search that comes up to locate member you want to change

5. Choose Edit Details when it lists the found member

6. Member

6. Member Information will come up and it should be 4th field down labeled "Member Title", this is where you can enter the title you wish to give them.
