Anybody have any suggestions (other than bribes) for recruiting people into my guild?

We are based out of a Metropolis on Naboo, if that helps.

Thanks, -WW

A few ideas...

1. Post a recruitment blurb on your galaxy's forums.

2. Have your members who are willing write about your guild in their bio.

3. Have a guild mission day where you also invite people who are hanging around looking for a group.

4. Don't turn your nose down at someone just because they have a guild tag already. While I don't advocate stealing members in any way, this already guilded person may be from a "dead" guild, or they may turn out to be a nice contact for a guild you could team up with or trade with.

One of the best ways to get new people is to hunt with them. Head to a town and run faction missions and see if you can find any new people. Get them to join you. Get to know them and then invite them in your guild if you like them. Or you can spam messeges in a town where newer people would pop up. My guild has done both we find the hunting gets us to know people a bit better before we invite them.

If your rebel and see other rebels and have a rebel guild, create a Doc on your computer and copy and paste it and spam everyone you see who isnt in a guild.. Ask them questions in the email to filter out the people you dont want.. I do it and I get TONS of new quality members

I would say the best recruitment is when you run with a person for awhile, figure out if they are a 'good' person. If they are, invite them to join your guild. If not, don't.

One of the largest problems with having people join a guild is you bring in the garbage ... make sure you only bring in the roses.

I'm learning as I go with my guild and I'm finding that the most tried and true method is also the most time consuming, and that is to spend time meeting new players either in a hunt or just talking about stuff or helping them out. It's time consuming, but it is the most rewarding. You'll a get a better idea of what they really want and what type of person they are, and it will be easier to get them to commit to the guild if you hit it off with them. The point is to be outgoing in meeting new players before even mentioning anything aboutjoining the guild.

We started by sending blind e-mails and it didn't really take long to realize that we were probably annoying 90% of the people we were sending them to. The only people you might get using e-mail methodare extremely outgoing people who will try anything, or noobs.

I think it's nice toask most of the members to advertise the guild in their profile too if they feel like it.

Hunting with people is a good way to meet people and find out if you like them or if they like you. One thing I have noticed that helps too is get your guild some visibility. Not big time visibility, but host a trip to the DWB or the corvette, or a massive hunt. Maybe even host a PvP raid of some sort. Announce these events on your forums. The people who post on the forums (gives the impression that you are an energetic active guild) and get around to the fun content are going to be the guilds people want to join. Often times people will be wanting to join your guild after seeing what you can pull off. I find mid level profession people make the best recruits, sure it always nice when some master elite wants to join, but the mid level ones are probably going to stay around for a while, theyhave been around enough to know how the game works and a little about PAs, but not long enough that they are overly political about PAs. Plus they have lots of time to grow within your guild as they advance in your profession.

Good luck to you.

I have recently beenpromoted as Councilman of Recruiting. I got this by helping our guild meet its mark by recruiting 4 people in one day. Not that many , but more than anyone else.

I use a couple of different methods. Occasionally I will blind email, but I have found this doesnt work very often.

Plus try to get a team working on the numbers, dont bunch your recruiters up in one place spread them around the planets. Best results are of course where the noobs are, Tat, Naboo, Cor.. as the more experianced and often already guilded vets are on Dath and Dant ... you might not have as much luck.

What I have done is set up a recurring spam message that isnt too spammy I have a pause of about 200 seconds. Plus, I will place myself outside of a popular cantina or star port. I have a HELPER tag and this gets me some attention, and AP. Not to mention all the noobs that shout out skills they are in need of. Putting it all together generally opens up dialog and a chance to talk with people.

I have had a chance to talk with a couple of others while hunting in say Fort Tusken , asking if people are happy with their Guild. I am not trying to steal guildies, but if their guild isnt helping them enough , we can use the bodies.

Plus as an Artisan and part time resource dealer. I have made a few different connections. so its a win win situation. Hunting works , but sometimes getting everyone together, buffed and on missions runs a bit long to hook a noob. So I do a basic feel out and try to make them feel comfortable. I know when I was originally recruited, it was my third day in SWG.Ididnt know what a guild was, and Ikeptwondering what the catch was. I trynot to let my recruits feel that way.In the past before we grew our city to shuttleport size I would even pack an extra speeder and escort them to our guild, We are located in Mineral Lake on Lok (Lowca) andits definately not a safe run from the star port or even the closest shuttleport.

We do offer a house with membership, but also try to make it more personal , helping them with grind hints, hunts and resources.

Just a few pointer for pulling in the new guys.

Become well known for something noteworthy on your server.

My former PA(REIGN) and my present PA(AXIS) is the top Imperial PvP PA on Starsider. Love us or hate us, everyone on Starsider in the PvP game knows us. I was/am literally hit with requests to join my PA like you wouldn't belive. I have probably turned down 100+ people.

I agree with JDKC, but more important than being noteworthy, make sure your guild is a good guild. If your guild is active and the people in the guild are a good representation of what your guild is and stands for, you will pick up like minded recruits automatically. The biggest thing to watch out for is just letting people in without making sure they are good for the guild. A guild of 100 horrible members is nothing compared to a guild of 5 good members. Don't get caught up in the numbers game.
