Severalcorrespondants are throwing in the towel.
especially the elder/veterans among them. Jas, how's your vision on your future? Will you stay until you get the darn PA revamp active? or are things looking grim and are you thinking of the big voyage to no-swg-land as well?
I hope you can serve the community for many a time to come....

My Outlook on SWG
While several Correspondents are reporting departures... the reasons vary widely and many of them leave with a good outlook on the game. While it seems many Correspondents are leaving at once, at least a few of these departures have been planned for a long time (due to forseen RL changes like jobs or additions to the family) .
I would be shocked if I found myself among those who are departing. It is true that I have been less active around here over the pastfew weeks for a few specific reasons. Only one ofthese has something to do with SWG disappointments but not in the way you might expect...
1. Getting used to some new responsibilities at work (I work for a school district and the first month is always nutso).
2. In the process of buying a house! (offer was verbally accepted today).
3. My 7 month old computer died horribly. I had to send the motherboard out of state to be replaced as it was under warranty with a companyI will never buy from again. Not being able to test JTL (my old pc barely runs swg live, and the laptop I'm writing this on refuses entirely) has been a depressing experience. *insert huge tears here*. The new hardware is on its way back to me, and I am so looking forward to it.
I started following SWG long before the first 100 were allowed into beta 1 (lost count of the years), so I've seen just about every disappointment and setback there has been to see. I've also seen a good amount of evolution. This is the4th MMORPG birth I have witnessed, and the one I have been most deeply involved in. Ifeel that things around here have been comparatively better than theother environments I've been a part of. That said, I have a great social guild and I've occasionally been accused of paying more attention to community than the nitty gritty of gameplay. So, I can understand where some folks get bored, or lose their patience with a carrot that always seems just a bit farther away.
However, I have "faith" that the carrot is coming. I have a sense ofthe amount of investment that has gone into it, both in people hours and $$$. If we don't have it now, its because it isn't ripe, not for any other arbitrary reason one could come up with. I really reallywant to see the jaws drop when the info is released, but Iam not pressing for the information or updates to happen any faster than is currently planned. Nothing is put off or ignored, just being labored over so hard that talking about it takes precious time away from it.
That said, I don't blame frustrations from those who can't see it for themselves and have been told to wait and see several times. I just hope they come back to the table once the meal is ready, or they will have spent all this time hungry with no reward.
So, I'm going to be here for a very long time. I really would like to stay until PAs get some of the attention I've been asking for all along. After that, I'll consider stepping down.I feel like a position hog as it is.
Expect a PA Encyclopedia and update to our Top 5 this week.

Jas, don't ever feel like a position hog. You've done so much for PAs in getting the information we've asked for and working out our requests. You've represented us very well and personally, I hope that you don't step down for quite some time so that the work you've put in is reworded by the developers when they are available to help us.
Your shoes would be too hard to fill in this place and I don't know that anyone could do it as well as you have.
I've shared the same faith in SWG since the beginning and while I have been disappointed at some aspects, I understand how game design works and know that everyone will get their attention as things ease up on the development schedule. SWG is the most option intensive MMO to date attempting so many systems and to a degree that other games didn't even imagine. Things will get better as time goes on, we all know this deep down, and just most of us don't want to realize it! I know you'll keep the faith just as I have all this time and we'll both be rewarded when it's time. Until then, I'll be here helping you out on the PA forums as much as I can where I can so maybe you can pay attention a little more to your guild in game.

I can only say /cheer and /clap as it is nice to see that people still have good things to say about this game. I have been around for a while myself (open-beta, then started in august) and I can say that it has embraced me, and will keep on embracing me for a long time.
I must add that leading a guild openedup perspectives for me. everyday is a new exploration and a new challenge. SUre I have done everythig any other player is able to do, but the friends and the community created is the most important thing for me.
It's good to hear that you are not thinking of quitting, as you are one of the correspondants that work really hard to supply people with information and listen to their problems.
On to another year of SWG: ready, set, go!

I definitely wanted to add here that forming and running the Wroshyr Order of Kashyyyk has been one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game- and the major aspect that keeps me playing, enjoying, and optimistic about the future of SWG!
Thanks for all of the work you've put in for us Jas- we the guild leaders of SWG salute you!

- Thanks for the post. My words have become jaded, sharp and offensive to people lately. I get so bummed out when I come to the forums. My mood comes from wanting so much, but getting nothing. Especially in the form of feedback.
Your little candle in the dark gives light (and hope) to more than you probably realise.
I guess I'll have to remain a little hungry for awhile and anticipate the feast to come
You should get a "Cheerleader" badge from Devs
Thanks
