The guild leader quit the game, the guild hall is in his name, no one can access it. Does this mean given enough time the guild hall, just go poof? Bye, bye guild?

The guild itself will not go away, however no one will be able to use the terminal if no one can get into the building now or even when it disappears.

I'd suggest placing a new guild hall by someone still in the guild so you can still add / remove members and such. I'd also suggest trying to work with the guild to start the allegiance process to declare a new leader. (Sticky at the top of the forum to explain that.)

I'm here if you have more questions.

Separate poster, but related question based on your feedback -

Will placing a second guild hall by someone in the guild already allow access for everyone as you say to add/remove members at the secondary guild halls? If so this would in theory allow a guild with enough resources (read that "lots") to have guild bases on several planets to facilitate guilding of new people among other things. This would be most beneficial to a guild like ours as we have incorporated 3 smaller guilds to form a larger RP based guild. We have 3 guild halls currently - Tatooine, Naboo and Dantooine - and being able to utilize ANY of them to guild new members would be amazing.

On a side note, I can also see where this could be used to overthrow a guild leader should the need arise - either for a situation like the poster's issue or one due to something else. I'm sure most have heard of PA horror stories of guild leaders using their position as a power trip, exploiting their guild members for their own gain or worse - I've even been told of some guild leaders accessing their member's accounts and spying on them, all in the name of "providing a better sense of trust and comraderie in the guild." This gives an interesting counter-tactic to these types of individuals, a way to put power back in the hands of the members rather than the leader should it become necessary.

Look forward to your response - and look forward to establishing our secondary bases of operation.

Yes, you can use all of the guild halls placed just like you can the original one. It doesn't matter who owns them, all guild members have access to them unless its set as a private structure.

A PA Hall being placed by another member doesn't give any opportunities to change a guild leader any more than the original PA hall does. The only difference is now the guild would have a variety of which one they wanted to go set allegiance at, but either way it still takes a majority of the guild, usually 51% if one person tries to take it over, for it to succeed. So I wouldn't worry about that issue.

While some guild leaders do like to keep tighter tabs on a guild, that is of course their option. Some guild members like that and some don't. I wouldn't be in a guld with that type of leader, it just wouldn't be fun. Just so others aren't confused, the guild leader in NO WAY has access to your account or character what so ever unless you personally give him / her your username and password which I very highly suggest that you do NOT do. Keep that information private and never give it out to anyone. The system has built in ways ot changing a guild leader by a majority of votes by the guild. You can read about that entire process in my sticky at the top of the forum called "How to Change Leaders aka Set Allegiance."
