Thread: Quick Question: Guild Leader Leaving Guild
Now that I've rambled on for a while, what I'm wondering is if the guild leader of a guild leaves, who does leadership of the guild revert to? Does the guild simply disband? I would hope this isnt the case, but who knows with SWG.
In addition, another quick one: I'm not the guild leader of my guild, but I have all admin access rights, we've got a second guild hall that was dropped by a member of the guild, but I can't seem to access the guild terminal. Does this hall need to be redropped or do I need to be on admin of the building?
thanks

Good morning all...I've got a quick question to as of you. In our city, theres currently two guilds, mine, and another guild that is slowly failing apart, so they've started asking us, a far more active guild, for membership, which would benfit us all around. Right now theres basically 4 active members, including that guilds guild leader, and a few people who would be de-guilded and added as they show up, that are active on weekends.

i'm pretty sure that the guild will be leader less until somebody gets a vote of 51% vote for another person.

You need to have admin rights on the building and the guild leader needs to have given you sponser and or accept and decline permission via a guild terminal. If he has done this then i reccomend you re-deed and drop the guild hall again.
thanks

A while ago our guild leader disappeared and our guild hall poofed. We had gone a month or more without the guildhall or leader. The guild TAG and guildchat worked fine during this time, we just did not have the means to add new members. I was able to place a guild hall and work with my guildmates to get the 51% vote to become guildleader. Everything worked great.NOTE: When I placed the guild hall, I believe it was automaticallyassociated to the guildI was in, but thatwas a while ago so my memory might be wrong.
You're correct, whenever anyone in the guild places a guild hall it becomes associated with the guild they are currently in(And if they ever quit or change guilds, it has to be redeeded and replaced again for it to become associated with a new guild or no guild). The guild itself once created is bound to the server and not the actual hall itself, meaning just as you did you can go weeks, months, or even years without a Guild Hall, you just won't be able to add / remove members any longer until a new one is placed.
And if the guild leader actually just quits, it will remain null until you declare allegiance to someone, but in that case it doesn't have to be a full 51%. Of course, if they just went inactive and didn't actually quit you would have to go with the full majority to change it.
I was in the same situation a while back. My guild had only a few members left and everyone decided to join larger guild. So I sent out a guild email to everyone, including the inactives, explaining what was happening, and then I disbanded the guild so that it didn't exist as a dead guild.
