I think I posted this on the wrong forum originally. I posted it in the Tech Support forum and just realized this is probably where I should've put it so here is the original post:
Greetings.
I'm not sure if this is the proper forum for this particular topic. I checked the "Read before posting on Tech Support" thread and still couldn't decide. So if this is an inappropriate forum, I appologize.
Recently I traveled to Coronet, Corellia and upon loading in the Starport I observed a player meditating in the middle of the starport shuttle landing site, yelling these words, "Since Publish 12 you can now check your rank within your Guild. Type /guildr and it will flash accross your screen!" I realize my guild rank as being on the Council but I saw no harm in trying it. So, not thinking anything of it I decided to try it and, to my surprise, it removed me from my guild.
Now a lot of you may find this humorous, as did the joker, however I did not. It was very irritating. And I'm sure everyone else who got caught in this trap wasn't laughing either. Some may have laughed, but I'm sure most weren't.
I believe that something as significant as removal from your guild should come with a confirmation screen to make sure this is what your intentions really are. There are more foolish things within SWG that have a confirmation screen, I think guild removal should definitely have one. Anyone agree?
If Devs read this please implement a Guild Removal Confirmation Screen into a future patch. This type of thing will more than likely continue before it slows down. And it wasn't very nice.
Regards,

This should probably go on the Core Systems forum, which is located with the profession boards.

Now that your thread has found its way to the PA forum, I just want to let you know that I have requested a confirmation box for the very reason you mentioned. It is badly needed when it comes to removing yourself from the guild. So hopefully one will be implemented because this often happens to the leader of a guild when they try to use /guildremove target since the targetting part is broken currently. So it is something I'd really like to see as well.
As for the person who was spamming that, I would report them because it is a form of griefing (Decieving a player to cause them problems). Obviously it's been a few days so you can't now but if you see them doing it again I would suggest it. And if you ever have a question about any command relating to a guild feel free to ask in this forum and I can answer it.

I've always been afraid to use the /guildr command, even when I want to kick someone from the guild (Only had to twice since I started my guild)
Was always afraid to use it and have it kick me instead.
A Confirmation dialogue and having the command fixed would be a blessing. lol
But it's ok. With Roth as the Correspondant...maybe the things we want will be able to come about.
