Thread: So which is broken?

Okay, people were solo grouping to get higher difficulty missions. Payout has been nerfed, but did that fix the real problem?


Missions that people can get without grouping pose no challenge because A) Mission difficulties are broke or B) Combat is broke. I liked solo groups because only those missions posed any difficulty for me. If I didn't do things right I could (and often did) die.


Granted, the combat upgrade will cause a shift in things, but this still needs to be addressed. Mission difficulties need to be looked at and improved so that challenge is brought back to them. A mission for a group of 20 needs to challange a group of 20, and a mission for one needs to challenge that one.


The Dev's need to look farther beyond "credits" to find the why behind the popularity of solo groups and fix everything that is broken.

There is a lack of high end content with missions. Even in solo groups, I find all missions too easy. If you want to get high end content with any type of challenge, you need to fight random spawns, and then you need to find that random spawn (which is boring). They need to increase the difficulty of the missions one can get when not grouped and make some really tough (not impossible) missions that you need a group to complete. They would give the good credits and good loot, not the lower end mobs like Mokks.

I say the players are way to overpowered. Sure we all solo grouped to get more credits, but it got to a point to where that was all anyone did. Log on, go get buffed, go kill jantas and occasionally go get more armor. This led to the market drastically inflating to the point that any new people starting the game had to be hooked up with some weps and armor. Does anyone else remember back when the game just came out and we actually had to group complete a mission. When the doc/chef buffs sucked. Now the only things that you need to group for are the corvette, dwb, and krayts( and even this one you dont have to with a couple of templates). The dev's really shouldnt have focused on the jedi revamp so early. Game balance and content should have been the first things to be taken care of (ya know take care of the majority of the players first) On the content note remember when the acts stopped after act 3. The dev's said that they were going to stop doing the temporary content instead they were going to concentrate on more permanent content (still waiting on that). Its nice to see that the dev's are finally trying to fix the game but i am afraid that it is to late. The game is already the joke of the MMO community. Hopefully they can pull it off though. I would love to see this game fixed so that I could come back to it. To fix the game take out the doc buffs that are currently in the game. Instead make them healers for like groups and raids and such and for their buffs make them more of a bump in lets say dmg mitigation or unarmed dmg and such. Next Nerf armor I mean 80% armor has no place in the game the buffs and the armor make a Tusken warlord soloable by a novice brawler armed with nothing but a stone knife ( no exageration Thats how I got one handed one last time i ground out fencer). Next add timers to all the specials ( kinda like every other mmo on the market) Then get rid of the HAM cost of those specials. But most importantly pretty much all the classes will need to be nerfed except for like ummm image designer (cmon guys what were you thinking). And scale the missions to the charecters level. If you have 20 masters in their proffesions grouped up to get a mission then it should be challenging for that 20 to go complete the mission as a group............. as in not soloable. Soloing is fun sometimes but that is when you go find random mobs. Oh on another note fix the consider. If a squill cons red to me then that means that ONE should kill me solo, not agro as much of the cave as possible and spam unarmed spin and get 5k unarmed xp per kill without taking any damage. Well that is my rant and like I said I really hope they fix the game so that one day I can go back to the game that was originally good enough to make me leave EQ1.
