Thread: Claiming the PA hall as the new guild leader.

I'm confused, I have been made leader of my guild after the old leader quit the game via the new voting system, which is great... thanks to Rothin for his work there.

I thought that ownership of the PA hall would be transferred to me, it isn't owned by the previous leader, but by a memebr. This is because I had quit the guild then put a guildhall down and transferred it to a guild member so they could reactivate the guild. I was then sponsored and added to the guild and voted in as the new leader.

Theplayer that owns the PA hall doesn't log on very often so I was hoping that I could just take it, I have admin on the building and it's full of my stuff.

I could just ring him and get him to log on otherwise.

Once that's sorted then I shall commision my statue to Rothin as promised.

Yeah, still waiting for that.

You can only claim a guild hall now if the owner has been inactive for 28 consecutive days. If they log on every now and then you'll need to get them to actually use /transferstructure. They put in the 28 day rule to handle our concerns about PA Leaders accidently or purposefully taking over guild halls without permission to do so and it causing unneeded grief.

So if he logs in, ask him to transfer it. If not, wait 28 days and it's yours.

I logged him on after he gave me the details and we have finally recovered from the ex leader doing a runner.

One statue coming up!

I'll PM you when it's done.

Here's something else I noticed that prevents PA hall transfer...

I had decided to turn leadership over another member before the PA changes. After the patch, I was inactive for over 28 days, but the guildhall never transferred to the new leader.

I logged in one day to help with the manual transfer, but I was unable to /transferstructure to the new leader.

It turns out, I had my hero of Tatooine quest items/orb/whatever in the PA hall. I had to remove those items before I was able to /transferstructure. I'm thinking this is what prevented the PA hall from being automatically transferred to the new leader, even though I hadn't logged in for longer than 28 days.

Maybe this goes for any of those items that you can only place in your bank, house or top level of your inventory?

Those items aren't supposed to be able to be dropped in a house at all, only your bank or top level of inventory. At least I didn't think they could be dropped in houses. On the topic of transfers though, nothing will automatically transfer, even if you're not online for 28 days. The leader has to manually claim the PA hall him/herself through a radial option on the terminal. It will never automatically transfer. Even if you transfer leadership directly it won't transfer the guild hall. It will check to make sure they have the lots free (which is a bug) but that's it.

Oops.. You're right! I guess I didn't mean to say autotransfer.

What happened is that there was no radial menu for the new leader to claim the PA hall -- even though I'd been inactive, still had ownership of the PA, but he'd been the guild leader several weeks before the patch, and over 28 days after it was published. He had 5 lot spaces free before patch, but was never able to claim the PA hall at any point afterwards.

The radial option never appeared for him.

I logged in a few weeks later to see if I could transfer it manually instead.

When I tried, it said something about not being able to transfer my hero quest object.. I decided to pick it up, and that's when I was able to /transferstructure to the new leader.

I'm not sure about other objects... but the hero quest orb can be placed in a house. I guess we just can't transfer a house to another person if our orb is still in there.

Yeah, since it is a non tradeable item that might have prevented it.
