Thread: Crafting House idea...

This does sound like a feature that wouldn't be exlusive to PAs. Though I'm not quite sure Architect is the perfect place for it either. Most of the coding for this feature would go into the crafting system of being able to use the *house* you are in as one of the containers you could select resources from. With that in mind, I'd suggest the Artisan Correspondent.
However, some of us know it took a VERY long time just to get it set up where you could use resources that were inside a backpack on your person. So this would likely take even longer. ![]()

A Crafters House could almost be a good 'player' city building. I look at the current houses and think...wouldn't it be cool if there were alcoves in the wall for crafting stations, and looked more like a workplace than a place of residence.
I suppose the shared resources idea is what the hoppers were for in the crafting stations. Its a pity these take up slots in the house though.

Hoppers? You could/can do something with em?
I use them sometimes, but yeah, they are kinda pointless since you can't share the materials between different crafting stations. So if you need to make a artisan component for a structure you might as well just carry all the materials in your backpack. They should have made it like this:
In every house there is a hopper item, accessible, openable and useable without crafting stations, or tools. You dump all your resources in there out of the way. Maybe it has compartments as well so you can seperate good materials from grinding quality.
When you put a crafting station in a house it accesses this secondary storage area. That way you can share hopper space between the crafting stations.
