Thread: Dark Force Rising?

Okay i am not the most harcore StarWars fan , hell im not much of a StarWars fan but i love this game and have become more and more of a fan over time but is there sumthin i missed in a back story or sumthin it seems like every server has a guild called Dark Force Rising, i know personally on my server (Scylla) their guild tag is <XG> and i have not been able to get an anwser from ne of the members as to why the tag that should be <DFR> is <XG> and i have seen DarkForceRising on other servers i play on once in awhile, ne body have an anwser for me?

Im on the Kauri server and unless I completely missed it I do not believe that there are any guild's named Dark Force Rising on them. But it is possible. And as for their tag I don't think more than one guild can use the tag. A guild can name its Tag anything it wants (besides the basic can't use SW names rules)it doesnt have to be the initials of the guild name. The other guilds on a different server probably and different things such as hyphens into the name so they can use it as well.

Darl Force Rising is the second or third book in the trilogy of books by Timothy Zahn. When they were written, they were not quite endorsed, i think, by lucasarts or Lucas himself. Now there is at least one server, Chimera, that is named from those books. This series is what started the whole new Stars Wars story and read like your watching one of the original movies. I swear I could hear music in the background. The first book is "Heir to the Empire" and introduces Grand Admiral Thrawn, Captain Pelleon and the Noghri in a most interesting way.
I do not think that I have seen any of that name, but as I am a noob it's not too surprising. As for why everybody uses the name is almost obvious: Everybody wants to be the bad guy, and if you can be an Imperial Guild and rise to the top...
Just my opinion on why, but the books are out there. I think he ended up writing like 9 before he was done. Your local library has them more than likely, and they would probably keep you awake reading.

He is correct. It comes from the Timothy Zahn first SW Trilogy. I would doubt seriously anyone could write SW books let alone use main SW characters without George Lucas's express permission. You wouldn't want the lawsuit his organization could toss on you, but he is correct about it being Zahn's books. They are some of the best books written for SW since the original movies were made.
These books are also where you find out that there is a forbidden planet that has creatures that nullify the force and make Jedi powers useless.

its called XG because its a guild Throughout multiple games (Xtreme-Gamers) check wars clicky in his PA thing on forums for our website thanks
