Hello, everyone, My Name is Madosa Faroni Leader Of Star Entertainment Of Chimaera.
My guild is getting pretty big ( 80+ ) members; it's gettng hard to control. I'm stuck with two ideas here. One have more co-leader or the other one, have a council. I'm not sure which is the best way to run things, and I need some advice on that, also the second thing because i'm running a entertainers guild. I'm planning on expanding the guild operation. Currently we are pretty focus on theed, and the entertainers we recruited from Coreilla and Tatooine tends to move to theed, because of our guild is base on Naboo.
I'm thinking of placing additional of two guild halls, each in a city in Tatooine and Coreilla, therefore members will be encouraged to stay at Their Home planet and in a sense giving the guild more presence in the server itself. How do you feel and what do you think of this idea?
If another entertainer guild leader from another server would answer those question, give a few suggest or even tell me how they are running their guild would be much welcome!
This is my first time running a guild, and i'm still learning to become a excellent guild leader. You're wisdom and knowledge is most welcome and appreciated!

The idea of placing your extra halls on other planets opens a lot of possibility when it comes to expansion as well as getting your name out there more. It's a good idea if you have those who are able to do it.
On the part about leadership structure, I've been leading guilds in various games for over 10 years. I've pretty much used every method possible from a single leader to a Council type structure. It really depends on your preference to which you use. I personally have found through trial and error and generally over time that using a multi-person leadership works best overall. It will allow you to share the responsibility and also help the ability to grow by not restricting things to just you making all the decisions.
Currently, my guild is using a Council structure. It has worked out very well since the beginning of SWG and has thrived. While we aren't a huge or well known guild, we've retained 80% of the original players and have got to know and work together very well. That would be my recommendation to begin with, start out with a Council of people in your guild that you know and trust and then work with the rules and administration until you're happy with how things are. Each persons style will always differ a bit.

Just what I was thinking. As an entertainer guild, you're all about people, so local leaders for the 2 other planets can get to know their local guildmembers and customers best.

Perhaps are local Leader and Co-Leader structure, where the they are part of the guild council.
so many ways, to do this. I had 3 councilor leaving the guild and resigned from the position, so i'm a little discourage about it at the moment hehe, but i would give it another try no doubt

I'm new to PA leadership, but I'll give you what advice I can.
If you can get people to host the lots for a PA hall, that sounds good. Since you're thinking of taking on extra leaders, how about giving local leadership for Tattoine and Corellia to one person each, with you in overall control? That sounds like it could be a natural division of responsibility.

I'm part of a fairly large PA(110+ members), and we have a council system. Everyone on the council can handle almost any issue we have, so it's very effective.

hi Madosa, Tuorn here.
The key to keeping your guild happy is definitly communication. The more you converse with them through guildchat and mail, the happier people get and the more that extra dimension of interactivity comes into play for them.
The desert sun, works with a similar system as a council. I have Frea as my co-leader and a bunch of 'senior members' with responsibilities. These senior members are people that have been in the guild fora long time and have a passion for playing swg. what their duties are is mostly up to them. most will find what they want to do after a while.
You won't be able to stop people from leaving. when they feel their time has come, they go. You as guild leader have to make sure the rest is still motivated. Make your member sfeel that it is a true honor to be called a senior member. they'll have more fun themselves that way.
As for the guild halls, I've already offered you a place in our new town which will be founded in roughly 2 weeks
our first town Loka Desuna will remain intact yet a bit smaller, as for many reasons it's good to be at more places at once. with a big guild like yours things are no different. cultural expansion is very nessecary.
this was pretty much a rambling, but if you have any more things you want to know, or see clarified, please ask
