A similiar idea has been discussed a few times like having a terminal / board posting those who were interested in joining / finding a guild. A system like that could have a lot more functionality than just for guilds as well.

In here though, we'll talk about for guilds. The idea itself is a good one. The ability to have a central location for guilds who would like to recruit this way would have the ability to do so. However, I don't feel all guilds should be automatically listed on the terminal. I believe this would be more of a opt in idea rather than an opt out one. A guild leader would need to travel to the terminal and sign his guild up for it and it would leave a short paragraph about his guild, show the current number count, things like that. If the person was then interested and wished to apply, it should give the option to send an email to the guild leader expressing their desire to join rather than simply allowing them to join from the termina, as that would defeat the purpose of the guild management terminals and the sponsoring/accepting system currently in game.

This idea actually happens on the Galaxy forums as is, a thread started every so often for guilds to post about themselves and try to recruit people from the boards. This would simply be moving this idea from the forums where some people see it, to in game where more people would likely use it. I don't really see a reason why it couldn't be implemented depending on exactly how it would need to be programmed but as I said, the idea itself is sound.

I've been thinking about way to improve things for guilds lately, but I think this may be the best idea by far.

There should be a guild "terminal" near all the starports. One that can be accessed to find all of the guilds on a particular server. It can be set up so the guild leader can post a litttle blurb about the guild, and potential members could apply to the guild right from there, with out having to track down people that are actually from the guild. Of course there would also have to be a way to prevent people from applying to the guild, if needed. A simple "recruiting Y/N" choice while putting in the paragraph would suffice.

Having this terminal would allow people to peruse the guilds at thier leisure, would actually draw more attention to guilds, and in the case where guilds ARE looking for members, this would cause the leader(s) to be more active in order to accept/deny the influx of membership proposals.

So... what does everyone think? Addditions, pros/cons, love/hate the idea... lets here whateveryone has to say.
