Thread: Networking and Alliancing... How would YOU go about it?

Hello everyone,

I myself am leader of an Imperial guild, RID, on Starsider. So far it feels like we are doing pretty well, but at the same time, we aren't really going anywhere. We got a Rank 4 city, shuttle, et cetera, and just doing...pretty good.

But after being a mayor and leader, it feels like I am not working to the fullest of my ability. I want to unite with fellow Imperial guilds/cities, as well as Neutral ones who are at least sympathetic to the Empire (If your Rebel, keep reading this. You can still answer this in a way you would work this out). This is meant to sort of achieve that guild number 1 is still the same faction as guild number 2,and at the same time unite military against enemies, gain resources, expand more cities, etc. What I am sort of getting at is an Imperial Netowork or Alliance. From the way it seems, when I get the names of mayors and/or leaders, they dont seem entirely interested in joining, and wonder if I am doing somthing wrong.

What I plan to do is simply form means of easier communication, and somtimes combine forces to attack Rebel bases or what not. Times like these sometimes make me wonder why theres a guild war function, but not an alliancing function, which gives access to a chat room or certain abilities. What would be your best way on becoming a Netowork or Alliance? Eventually I plan for all the cities in our chain to put ICOS in front of their city name, which stands for Imperial Confederation of States.Although, I dont know the best way to invite such cities or guilds besides saying "/tell Bob Hello, would you like to join a Network? I got some info for you."

Interested in hearing what your best solution would be. Forgive me if a lot of this seems vague or unclear. Just ask if you need anything filled in.

P.S: Not sure whether I should have posted this in the politician of PA forums. Decided the PA forums were more appropriate.

I think the first thing you may want to do to get a foot in the door is to do raids with a few guilds you want to start an alliance with. Get to working together getting used to how each other play and then start there. When there is a raid you will then have people you can call on. Don't start with "hey do you want to start an alliance" just say I'm looking for a few more people for a raid do any of your guys want to come. Or get specific and say you are looking for a specific profession to drop a base. Thats what got my guild into pvping alot more. We got invited to raids and base defenses. Once you get contacts, doesn't always have to be the leaders in the guild but it helps more, you will then have a small alliance and then can plan bigger things. Being seen together by other guilds pvping in cities and other stuff will make people question hey how can we get with you guys as well. All of this is to make the contacts that you need to start an Alliance.

All of this is my personal opinion not exactly how to do it and doesn't mean its going to work. Some people just place a large post on there server forum seeing who wants to join in. There may be a few guilds already allied that you can get with. I would do both it shows your leadership and willing to get something started.

Thanks

I geuss it would only make sense if I got to be trusted with other guilds before asking them. And I got lots of info as well, wouldn't hurt to copy it over to the Starsider forums.

you could make an alliance with the same faction guilds in area nearest to you town - then you take turns in defending your base on some kind of rotor - when your go for a base raid just inform the other imperial guides when your planning to attack.
