Thread: Mass Member Kick

Our guild, as you may have noticed through some of my other posts, is going through massive changes to grow bigger and hopefully better. We have started a new, and elaborate, recruiting contest and I want to start removing inactive members. I know there are a few ways to do this. The one I would like to use is the bank tip method because that way people don't have to worry about accidentally missing my email. However, this takes a very long time and I was wondering if there is anyway to speed it up, or perhaps there is a better method of checking for activeness. Please help me out, and check my other post that should be around the PA forum somewhere.

had a few mins thinking about this before i go to bed and the only sure fire way is to do the 1 cred bank tip thing. You can speed it up a little bit by using ctrl and Up and just changing the name and maybe only do it for the ones you think arnt on at all or that ofter and not doing it for the regulars. As you also said you can do the mail to the guild but as you also said ppl might miss it or not bother to reply to it. Can't think of any other way to do it but im tired so i might be missing something. Good luck with your changes in your guild.

Edit: Haha beat you again rothin

Okay, thanks, i'll probably just do the bank tip thing for people I'm suspesions about activeness.

I'll also let Rothin respond to this too before I make any changes, might as well see what you both have to say, he he. It's kind of fun watching you two race to respond, it's also very very helpful, keep it up!

I would have won, but was on an errand

The bank tip method is the one to use if you're afraid of people missing an email. You could write a macro to make it a little easier on you but you're still going to have to type out all the names of the guild members which will probably take some time. The method I always use though is the guild wide email. I've used it since I founded my guild and it hasn't failed yet. I usually send it out and say "You have this long to respond, if you don't you will be removed but you are always welcome to rejoin." Then I'll give them a time frame, and when its up those who haven't responded I remove. However, before kicking them I always send out an email saying "I'm cleaning up the list now anyone who is removed but is still active I apologize, just message me and we'll get you back in the guild." I have yet to have anyone upset who was accidently removed and honestly rarely had anyone accidently removed (And those were usually alts.)

Hopefully one day we'll get our Guild tab and can keep track of activity that way. I'm always poking and proding the Devs for this stuff whenever I can.

Cool, I might switch to that method if I can, thanks.
