Thread: Guild Title Request

We have a RP/PVP guild on Kettemoor with a large ST detachment. I wanted to give everyone a rank in their profile by using the guild rank mechanics. But all normal rank names, Captain, Commander, etc. are verboden. Why is this? We should be allowed to issue military ranks to members, especially when we are portraying a military unit.

Right now it isn't allowed because the title filter is the same one that is used for the name filter, and thus disqualifies all military titles and such since you can't name your character that. I have asked for it to be tied to the profanity filter instead which would then allow real titles to be used. I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything because you are not the only one who would love to see this change.

Cool thanks. And it isnt like it would require a great deal of work to switch it around. Right now for fun we use titles like Dark Overlord, Aspiring Apprentice, Evil Minion, etc.

Most things that seem like it would be a simple two step procedure aren't actually that simple 99% of the time when it comes to making changes. It all depends on how it is coded and tied into other systems. I'm not saying its easy or difficult, but it isn't always as easy as you or I may think it is. Have to try to look at it from a Developers point of view.


With that said though, I've gotten creative with our titles as well and use abbreviations for the normal ones until we can see this changed. I think it would make a lot of people happy once it is changed. The titles issue is one of the 'top 3' issues I submitted to the Devs to look at as was referenced to in Cal's Community Relations feedback thread though so we'll see if it is an easy fix or not hopefully in the next couple weeks. (Not saying it will or will not be done then of course).
