THAT is what happens in my guild, which is why I am so upset.

I am no longer the guild leader...."null' is.

I myself have took Rothin's advice and let the election run for a week or so and then stop them so the daily emails would stop. It worked, except today the elections finished and I, the incumbent leader won the election (there was no-one running againts me).

We left it open because it was easier and we trusted everyone not to abuse the fact it was on or that you don't know when someone runs.

The election ended last night- after only a week - and randomly elected a new leader. The player in question swears he hasn't even logged on the character that was chosen for 3 days. We believe him. Noone had registered to run by 12 hours beforehand. So it all looks coincidental enough to be a colossal bug. We're in the process of arranging to transfer back leadership, which obviously isn't too easy what with the lot bug. /sigh.

Anyway, thought you should know.

That's certainly interesting. The election in my guild has been running for almost two weeks and it hasn't ended yet. I'll make sure to mention this as well.

Me and my guild had a good time with it, talking about who was trying to overthrow me and having me have a guildmail war with the terminal. I did let it run long enough for it to elect me incumbant, but then it ran another random election. Best part was when right before I disabled the elections I sent a mail:

I'm going to find out which one of you are doing this and keelhaul you. Mutiny will not be tolerated. This is a dictatorship, not a democracy!
