I've only been back in the game a few days since leaving out of disgust with the strange routine of "solo grouping" and buff lines.

When I came back I deleted my old characters and made a new one to fully experience the CU.

After bashing enough Gorts and Butterflys to see that even level 10 solo was going to drive me to RL suicide, I started to consider actually talking to other people in game. Hmmm, I said, maybe this group thing they are talking about in the CU update section is something they are serious about...

So it did not take long for me to see that trying to solo my way into Jedi would not happen. It also did not take long to see that finding groups to join would require me to actually begin communicating with others in a civilizedmanner.

According to my first grade teacher, I do not work well with others.

Solution: I joined a guild and I'm really working on trying to be a nice person.

And you know, its funny how having guildies to talk to makes finding groups to join so much easier.

Maybethe Devsplanned it that way...ya think?

Since the CU, I've attempted to group several times since it's really the only way I can get medical XP. I've been a part of one successful group hunt. The countless other attempts have all ended in chaotic failure as everyone either runs in their own direction, aggros the whole mob, complains about the XP they're getting, fails to follow directions, the leader goes LD, the group is filled with novice Docs and no combat skills, or lag increases to intolerable levels while part of the group.

I don't think this is fun at all. I'd rather play poker. I'm making plans to form groups myself which I'll rule with a semi-iron fist, but I suspect I'll just be trying to herd cats. We'll see.

Personally I have had no trouble getting into a group and making good exp. I am a tkm/fencer, so being a tank it’s easier to construct a good group and make it productive. You need one tank in every group or it will be very difficult for a group to survive. I have also played SWG for a year before and quit do to the solo groups and god like doc buffs. Now that the CU is out and has taken care of those problems, I have come back to SWG and I am loving it. There are still a few bugs with the CU, but I am sure the devs will fix them asap. The only problem that I have noticed, is that medics get low exp when the group is outstanding. When I am in some groups they are so well organized and skilled, that I hardly get hurt as a tank even though I have the monsters on me with taunt at all times. Being a very good group gives the medics hardly any exp, do to not having to heal anyone. Other then that, all others get good and fast exp in a group.

I am pleased for the people who DO find this new system to their liking, but I lead a large guild, and what I see is that people are bored to tears. A lot of people (including myself) actually LIKE doing things solo, and for us, this whole CU is a nightmare. We are all levelled, and there simply isn't anything to do. Loot sucks, helping others grind is not something you want to do all day, and PVE even with level 42 mobs (agains our 80) is tedious and drawn out.

Bottom line is, I do enough social stuff already, thank you very much. I LOVED going off on my own, exploring loot spots, hunting, just pottering about. And there is not much of that left now.

I think it is completely and utterly wrong to force people into one single playing style.
