Recently our guild leader quit the guild without giving anyone else guild access. The leadership was transfered back to our founderduring theguild update, but he went to the military and said he will probably not return.
From what I understand all we need is for over 50% of our members to declareallegiance to the person we pick as our new leader. Is this correct?
Also, is there a time when all guild experience a guild update at the same time. We have 5 recruits waiting to join and if there is a designated time for a guild update to occur I'd like to inform them. If not, is there a way to find out when our guild's guild update occurs?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

The guild update day is a big mystery. All we truly know is that it happens once a week. Perhaps one way to check is to change something temporarily about your guild name or abbreviation tag. Make it something very minor that people won't notice. When it changes over, you know that is your update day. Then you can change it right back. EDIT: Though the change back will take another week.
That's the only way I can think of of finding out which day it is.... I have appealed to the devs for better information on this subject.
Lastly, you have the Allegience method right on.

Izurx,
You will get an update via Gmail when more than 50% of the people in your guild 'set allegiance'. Maybe not at that exact moment but you and everyone in guild will recieve the Gmail. I speak from personal experiance.
