"You can send city mails by sending it to the word citizens"

I just wanted to ask for a clarification... if you send a mail to: citizens, it emails everyone that lives in the same city as you?

Make it so we can trade our pets in for callable ones, or at least deeds so we can put them in our houses and /cry! (lol)

I know this has been brought up before is an issue brought forward to the devs, but to me and my guild it is a very important issue. I have not seen many people bringing this point up as of late. If you feel that this is an important issue, then keep this message at the top of this forums so it remains visible. If it sinks quickly, then maybe it is just me and I will hang my head in shame.

MOTD is already in our list of requested features that has been given to the devs. The moment they have the intent of adding features for PAs they will consult the list. Whether or nota MOTDgets implemented (and when) has far more to do with how easy or difficult the code would be than what position this thread holds on the forums.

I second the question. Anyone help out a PA newbie? What's a MOTD?

The acronym MOTD comes from EQ and stands for "Message of the Day". EQ had no guild email, no real way to communicate as a whole with the guild. This was a message the guild leader or officers could set that each member of the guild would see in their chat boxupon logging in.

While we do have guild email in SWG and it helps immensely, a similar "Comm Message of the Day" would be a great addition. It would let members know important information about what is happening with the PA immediately upon logging inwithout sifting through their mail, as some players get a great deal of email.

Yeah, and for some reason there are people (specifically people in MY guild) who don't get hardly any email at all, and still don't read their email. If we could have like an MOTD that was like a system message upon logging in that would be great, even if it had like a one-sentence limit, it could be a notice that there is a new guild email to check, or any other short message too. MotD would be awesome.

Actually the acronym MOTD is at least 25 years old. It was used on networkedcomputers and in old BBSs where the system administrator could provide messages when the user logged in. EQ was most likely the first MMORPG to use MOTD.

Thanks, been wondering about this. Acronyms are great once you know what they stand for.

OK. Please, enlighten me on this one. I tried, and I tried, and I tried to email my guild using the terminal. It never worked once. I gave up trying, and I've gone to mailing "Citizens" now.

Does it suddenly work now or is there a sneaky trick to it??

Please let me know!

If you are the PA Leader or if you have +Mail permissions all you have to do is put the word guild in the To: field, just like you do when you use the word citizens.
