It came to my PA's attention that at least one former member of ourPA still has access to our guild chat. We are an ImperialPA and they have gone Rebel so this poses some problems for managing PvP raids etc. Our Guild Leader created a ticked and the CSR responded that it was a known issue that they had no way to fix at this time. Now it seems our PA has spy we can't get rid of. So we may have to disband and reform. Argh.
We are not sure if this is thehappens everytime but we do know:
  • The former member removed themselves from the PA
  • The former memberhas notjoined/formed another PA.
Just though people would want to know they have SPYs in the midst.

JD,

From what I understand - unless the player deletes the guild chat from their bar, they will be able to see what's in guild chat, no matter their status.

We've had this problem too. It sucks. I'm sure it's on Jascentia's list.

In our city we were going to start a new guild. As the mayor of the city,I had to remove myself from my current guild and join the new one to help with the recruitment process. While I was in the new guild, I had access to both guild chats. But right after I logged, it removed the first (original) one. So based on my experiance, when someone leaves a PA s/he will only have access to that guild chat perior to logging. Once you're logged out you will lose the channel.

just curious tho..does that mean if the former member doesn't join another guild then they will keep the old guildchat access?

there is a simple solution to your problem. First ask if the person would please delete the tab. If they refuse you can create a seperate channel for raiding. We ourselves use this and Teamspeak system. On larger raides that involve more than one group. We always create a seperate channel for the group leaders to be in better communication with each other. Every pa especially factional ones are going to have spies of some sort intentional or non intentional ones. The best way is to find the possible sources of leaks and not invited them into the special channel.

Recently we have been in alliance with other pa's and by using this system. And not telling the others in our group what is going on or 'im waiting to hear where we are going' or 'we were told to wait here for orders' works well. Our raids have been more sucessful of late and our defense abilty has grown.
