Greetings all.
This is my first visit to this board, having never realised it was in the professions sub-section
Glad I found it though as I've had an issue for sometime and am keen to know whether it is being addressed.
I am part of a roleplaying community on Chimaera and we have a war-ring of PAs within it.
Obviously, from time to time we have battles and skirmishes etc, though as those who roleplay may know, PvP is a smaller part of the game for us than other playstyles.
What I had been looking at is activities and events for PAs to get involved with, and whilst my grandma would probably beat me at PvP, I'd still like to have a go!
Anyway, we have various PAs - rebel ones, imperial, police, thugs, traders etc, and naturally we want to implement activities that are roleplaying based - one obvious ones for many are things like battles, training and combat centred ones. For example, the Garrison may go on exercises in the wilderness to train defending ambushes or defending buildings.
Whilst PAs in the war ring can attack each other, it seems that the only way people in the same PA can fight is if they use the /duel system. Is this right? Is this intended?
Is there any way that people in the same PA can enjoy battling without using /duel all the time? Is there any discussion or news on updates to this system?
It's a huge dent in the plans of having roleplayed and fun PA activities that involve combat if the members all have to duel, and I'm very keen to know if either I have misinterpreted the system, or if I haven't, is it ever going to change?
Thank you for reading, and hopefully someone can shed some light on the situation for me.
Regards, Cambylobacter Seraph.

I have brought up this issue in the past, and have had response from others that we do need a system to allow Intraguild PvP beyond /duel. Check out this post.

ah, thank you for the reply, and thank goodness it bothers other people and isn't just me being strange.
From my perspective, I'd just implement the same coding as people in warred PAs have; that you can freely attack fellow PA members at any time.
Even in the worst case scenario of griefing, it shouldn't take long to kick a stupid griefer from the PA, and it's not as if they could loot you for example.
Surely it wouldn't be too hard to extend the coding for attacking status to include people in the same PA.

I belive the war system is supposed to handle that. Everyone in a PA you are at war with will show up as attackable. You do it through the guild termninal, and the other PA has to do the same.

The ingame guildwar system has several highly exploitable aspects which keep it from being used by those who want measured opportunities for combat, and doesn't allow for intra guild fighting. There is guildwar free for all on one hand, and person vs person duels on the other hand, but no great options for what most of RPing PAs want, which is somewhere in between.
I believe a group vs group duel option was considered by the devs at one point. Would this work? When the GCW revamp goes into full swing we'll bring this up again, while this isn't GCW specifically, it seems a good time to mention something pvp related.
