Thread: A bit of advice needed...

Hey guys, I have read various posts on this forum and I have about decided that you people are about the most polite I have ever seen on any forum of any game I have ever played and it makes it a little easier to get in here and ask a question cold turkey (as I have never posted on this forum).

I know I'm not supposed to advertise my guild so I won't go into to much detail.

I'm working on starting a roleplaying guild on a server that doesn't have a lot of roleplayers. The basic premise is similar to a mafia organization complete with politicians in my back pocket, actual smuggling, some henchman (gunmen/melee fighters) etc.

My question is this, how should I go about starting this thing? I have posted a post on the galaxy forum and the roleplay forum and I have a few replies, but not really enough to warrant paying for a guild hall. I started the character that I intend to start this guild with just a week or so ago so I don'thave a reputation and I don't really know anyone on the server?

Any advice on how toget the ball rolling with recruitment and whatnot would be extremely helpful.

Thanks guys and gals.

A few tips...

1. Get well known. Establish YOURSELF as a famous smuggler or "thug" type. Get involved with some of the major guilds on your server. Sell one out to the other and then turn around and reverse the process. Make sure you chronicle your deeds on the forum for your galaxy.

2. Be particular. If you want to establish a guild that people want to be in, pick dynamic players and give initiates or petitioners some kind of trial to get into the guild. Use a ropleplaying event or a difficult task that is truly original. This will increase peoples curiousity about your guild.

3. Make sure, if you really want to be evil, that you play evil. Always be in it for yourself; sell out guildmates, friends, enemies. Get people talking about how well you fooled or sold out "blank".

4. Hold yourself to a higher standard of roleplaying...when you hear about a PvP battle, dont slack off and continue hunting. Show up and try to sell weapons to both sides before the battle starts. The more you play into these stereotypes, the more people will talk about you and the more of a myth you will become.

Those are just some ideas...maybe one of them will spark something within you. Best of luck.

First of all build a character and some roleplaying friends. I don't roleplay so for recruitment I have no idea.
