I thought it'd be helpful to share some (the only) info that I received from Customer Service.
"This is CSR XXXX again. Thank you for providing me this additional information. Unfortunately, this is a current known issue being investigated by Development. At this time, there is no work around or fix for this issue, nor is in game support able to re-add players back to the guild itself. I understand the frustration and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. Should you need assistance with any other issue in game, please feel free to contact us again. When you have finished with this ticket, please remember to delete it." - April 1, 2005
Translation: Hmm... Yeah. We know about the problem. None of us can do anything about it right now. You're probably not very happy about it. I'm sorry. If you need help with something else, please let us know. I'm closing the ticket. Delete the ticket, once you've read it.
Bug status: Still broke
Ticket status: closed
It's been a week since I've reported thisbug. I read on another post that someoneopened a ticket regarding a similar problem a week before I did. Since that time, I haven't gotten an update or any additional information.

I wonder how long we'll be waiting for the patch to be patched?

Let's please not be negative as it isn't going to get anything fixed any faster. A lot of people are frustrated but posting thigns like that just isn't constructive in helping the issue. If you have more information I'll pass it along, otherwise please just be patient.

Couple days ago our guild got an email stating %TO is your new guild leader, followed by another email indicating that the voting option had been turned off but can be re-activated by the guild leader.
Our guild leader hasn't been around for the past week or so maybe... pretty sure it's not longer than that.
Yesterday we got the same email 2 or 3 times stating that elections were now being held because our Guild Leader hasn't logged in... I believe it said "recently" not sure I'm at work now.
What is the period of time that should go by before our guild leader is removed?? If it's 2 weeks that's ridiculous... he could go on vacation and come back to find the guild in shambles!
Yesterday our guild leader did log in and I was told that he and another member went to the terminals but they couldn't access anything.
Not sure if he can access anything now. If he can should he just register as a candidate?
Is there anything going on to change the specs on this improvement to Guild Management??
I'm afraid the guild is gonna go pooof or we'll be stuck w/ the one person who goes and registers and then votes for themselves
Edit: Ok... just checked the Sticky at the top... it hasn't been 30 days since he's logged in... I know that for sure. Is this a bug?

It is most likely a bug from your description of the issue. I know they are looking into all of this stuff and are trying to get it fixed. None of this stuff showed up on Test Center when they tested it, it all started happening when it went live.
I'll keep passing on any info you guys can provide until these things are resolved.

In my guild we recently got the guild-wide email from the PA terminal stating our guild leader was gone for 30 days and elections were taking place ... etc. Our guild leader left for WoWseveral months ago, so this came as no surprise. I promptly went to the PA terminal and successful entered the guild leader race. I was surprised to see that I already had 11 votes even tho I had just entered the election! Woohoo! But my hopes were dashed as other people started voting for me and the standings weren't changing. So it would seem our guild leader election is frozen at 11 votes for me, or the PA terminal is just not displaying the election standings properly. When you vote, you get the system message that your vote was successfully entered, but it doesn't change the standings.
Prior to the PA terminal changes we were trying to change our guild leadervia the allegiance system. The 11 votes I got when I registed to run the guild election is close to the amount of people that probablyhad pledged allegiance to me at the time. Thats my theory anyways.
Our guild has two PA halls (one is used as a museum) and I also noticed that you have to register to run at both PA Hall terminals in order for guild members to be able to vote at either terminal. I tried getting people to vote at both PA halls in order to get the standings to budge from 11 votes but that didn't work.
My apologies if this bug has been discussed already.
Cheers,

Thanks for the extra info. I think that the votes that show up at first it a left over from the allegiance system. Hopefully it'll get squashed. Hopefully your elections will go smoothly though.

I have a question on the voting...
Our GL hasn't been on for about a year and a half (alot of us left pre-patch 10, but some have returned). As far as the ones that have returned, only 1 is an officer, and cannot make and guild changes (can add people to the guild, but cannot remove). We have registered her to be voted into the position, claimed alleigence (?sp), but the results are for the currnent leader.
Does the voting system count you as voting for the current person if you do not vote? If so, how the heck do you or can you remove players that are no longer playing? Out of a total of 51 people, we have about 16 that are active (the rest went to WoW, etc...).
I have submitted a ticket on this, but thought I would ask here also.
Thanks

The election process is currently bugged so that it is counting inactive votes for the old leader, which it isn't supposed to in the new system. So once that bug is fixed you guys should be able to vote in a new leader without a problem.
