Thread: Why do people keep trying to group without explaining?

This happens to me a lot - I'm wandering around a city, going from A to B, when the 'soandso wants to group' box appears. I look around, and there's usually some guy just standing there. hasn't said anything to me in spatial or a tell, isn't spamming anything.. I click 'no' and they run off without saying anything.

why do they do that? what are they trying to achieve? I admit I'm pretty new to the game, and maybe it's a really noob-ish thing to ask, but it just seems rude to attempt to create a group without even explaining the purpose first. It's also slightly confusing!

Could be a solo-group bot, I dunno....

Happens to me sometimes, too....

happens to me all the time to

its to do with solo groups. even though they have been nerfed and its more profitable to just go out hunting solo some folks still want to solo group.

I guess its because of the slight xp gain you get from being grouped.

I thought that might be what they're up to, but it's the lack of 'solo group forming' spam that throws me. also, they're never AFK or in a good position for finding people who might actually want to group - it's usually halfway to the bazaar. strange..

Try asking the next one that tries it and see what they say.

Most of the time, I'll just ignore it and click no.

It happens alot when Players are trying to examine you. Its quite easy to misclick when the target is moving. I get duel request like this too, although an apology usually follows that one. Don't take it personal, I don't think its a CIA plot to force you into hunting with newbs.

If it's the examine problem, then that might actually be the case! we're still kinda rare..

More importantly it's to get higher than a level 32 mission.... to get Level 99 and up you need a "Solo Group"

That too... it's almost enough incentive to switch sides

Welcome to SWG. Forget any past ettiquette you might have learned in another game, much of that is missing here. See, players in this game are on this one track grind to uberity, and by having you in their group that benefits them personally, but has nothing to do with your enjoyment. I came from EQ and slowly had to accept this backasswardstyle. Its sad actually but you learn to eventually enjoy a life of solo. I suggest you do what i do and put them all on auto reject because 99% of them are not interested in social or co-op play with you, they just get a bonus by having you in theirsologroup and I'm not trying to accelerate any pos grinder to their uber states. Sending tells before group invite and just beingun-uberly social in general is basicly a forein concept here.

PS. There is a sollution to having social play. Its to make a very slim female toon, human, twilek or zabrak (ugh, Zabrak chix..) Dance a little the cantina, you'll have your social play real quick, if you can stomach it.
