Thread: Guild only vendors

There have been many posts about putting vendors in guild halls that are limited to only guild member use. Many of these posts state that they have such vendors installed and running, As far as I know the only way to limit access to the vendor is to make the PA hall private. However when we try to do this we get error messages saying the vendors can only be placed in public access structures.

We want to set up a vendor to sell items at cost to guild members and limit the sales to guild members only.

Can any of you help with information on how to do this. Thanks.

We have our vendors in a small house with a 1 million credit access fee. All PA mebers can enter with no cost to them. This should solve your problem.

Make the structure public, drop the vendor, make the structure private. Should work.

Betcho, how do you bypass the access fee for guild members? I tried this in my shop, without success, by adding "guild:gtf" to the admin list - didn't work - no one could get in without paying the 1mil fee.

Jin, you're idea won't work. when you try to make the structure private, you get a message "houses with vendors cannot be made private."

Thanks for the idea - we put a 10,000,000 credit entry fee on - all guild members are exempted - works great.

But this only works properly if this is the only vendor you have in the area...I'm not sure about large distances like across planet or off planet but I have several vendors a few hundred meters apart and people can still see/buy/retrieve any sale I have on any vendor, from any vendor.

  • Make structure public, drop vendor, make private (NEVER got it to work EVER!)

  • Ppl seeing item from vendors meters away, NOPE, they can't. Not from what I've tested. I've tested this because being the vendor owner I can see them items because as a vendor owner you cansee items in that vendor or the local region. Customers (I've had ppl test this with me) can only see items in THAT vendor only. They were not able to see my custom orders items in my custom order vendor which is locked behind a small house next door.

  • Applying 10mil access fee. WORKS, I have the same setup. The thing is if you can't get it to work by adding them to admin list and thus not having to pay the entrance fee, try putting them on the "ENTRY" list. That also exempts them from paying the access fee. This is how I have customers pickup custom orders and keep ppl from buying items I crafted for a particular customer. I add the customer to the "ENTRY" list and when they pick up thier order, I remove them.

  • GUILD:ABC, haven't tried that but will try it tonight, since we havea storage facility that we want other ppl to have access to.

Charge a ridiculous entry fee, like 1000000 credits (if possible), but put your guild in the Entry List so they can get in without the fee.

I believe a while back they capped the entry fee to a certain amount, I believe it was 50k to prevent exploiting or people walking in and not paying attention and just clicking yes then complaining. It may be higher than 50k, but I know it is capped. No matter the fee though, if you keep it well stocked and even one person finds out about it all they have to do is come in and clean our your vendor and as long as the value of those vendor items outway the entry fee (which most will for sure) then someone will do it.

Not trying to be negative, but just trying to save you the trouble of someone doing that to your guilds vendor.

But the only problem is we need a vendor that only the guild can get too and use but im not sure that is possible. Does anybody know of a way i can do this? Thanks

Because vendors have to be in a public house, there isn't an actual way to have guild only vendors (though this is a very highly asked for item from the PA leaders on this forum). The way that my guild does it (and this may or may not work for you) is our vendors put up prices they'd charge the public, and then whenever a guild member buys an item, they bank tip the difference back to them.

It's the best work around we've figured out thus far until they're able to work on PAs and feature requests we've made. Hope that helps some!
