Thread: We need MOTD
I just wanted to ask for a clarification... if you send a mail to: citizens, it emails everyone that lives in the same city as you?
MOTD is already in our list of requested features that has been given to the devs. The moment they have the intent of adding features for PAs they will consult the list. Whether or nota MOTDgets implemented (and when) has far more to do with how easy or difficult the code would be than what position this thread holds on the forums. ![]()

I second the question. Anyone help out a PA newbie? What's a MOTD?
The acronym MOTD comes from EQ and stands for "Message of the Day". EQ had no guild email, no real way to communicate as a whole with the guild. This was a message the guild leader or officers could set that each member of the guild would see in their chat boxupon logging in.
While we do have guild email in SWG and it helps immensely, a similar "Comm Message of the Day" would be a great addition. It would let members know important information about what is happening with the PA immediately upon logging inwithout sifting through their mail, as some players get a great deal of email.
Actually the acronym MOTD is at least 25 years old. It was used on networkedcomputers and in old BBSs where the system administrator could provide messages when the user logged in. EQ was most likely the first MMORPG to use MOTD.

Thanks, been wondering about this. Acronyms are great once you know what they stand for. ![]()
