How does one get a pistol a "sliced" and what does that do to the pistol.

Is there a risk that I will loose it? I'm a Doc, and about to become a pistoleer as well, I haven't heard of "slicing" ?

Thanks,

Slicing is done by a smuggler. It goes like this:

1. You hand your weapon to the smuggler. Please unequip it first, there is a bug, and hopefully you trust this person

2. The smuggler (if they are of appropriate level) is given the option to "slice" your weapon. Depending on what level they are, the odds of them doing it succesfully are between 50 and 100%.

3. If successful, they will either change the speed of the weapon, or the amount of damage. Normal increases are between 15 and 30% to either.

4. If they fail, the weapon is not damaged, but can never be sliced again.

5. The smuggler hands you back your weapon. As in #1, hopefully you got someone you trusted and they didnt just run off with your weapon.

FYI.. sliced weapons decay faster than their non-sliced counterparts.
