Shoots fast, does more damage than your regular auto attack, and uses very very little HAM. I could pretty much replace my regular shots with DT and lose only a tiny bit of action over a long series of shots, at the gain of significant damage. But on the other hand that would require a lot of macro hitting, or button spamming which takes way too much effort for me. And if I'm gonna be hitting buttons I might as well be using a better, more focused special like BS3. So I use it sporadically but not really all that much.

Double tap does for me between 600-700 damage the same with pistol whip aka melee defense 1

You cannot compare the two cause in order for pistol whip to work you have to be close to your target it is a melee attack and double tap is a range attack

I personally use double tap while advancing on the target and then pistol whip when I'm in range

Double Tap is a great skill. It deals gooddamage, it's cheap, AND it's a prerequisite to another great skill (Stopping Shot). Can't go wrong with it.

yeps Doubt Tap is a fav. Best attack for it's cost, and it's fast.
