Thread: Fast solo experience?
Anyone have any suggestions or tips on solo hunting locations for fast pistol and combat exp.?
I am currently 1/3 of the way into the novice pistoleer box and would like to hurry up and get the skill. I am currently using a scoutblaster with a damage range of 40ish to 103 and speed in the low 2ish range.
I am currently based on Talus and the best mob I have found are those large insect critters (look like the bad guys form Starship Troopers). I use a combination of healthshot 1, warning shot, and body shot 2 and these give me about 1.2k in pistol. The only problem is that these don’t seem to be a mission mob so finding them is difficult.
Additional information: I am using the default scout stat setup and I don’t currently use armor. I am working up to Bioengineer so I have some healing ability. I would prefer a creature type mob as I am also working up to creature handler (I know, not another one) and need the scouting experience to finish up my last three boxes.
Thank you in advance.

You said you use a scout blaster, 40-103 damage and ~2.0+ speed. Buy a FWG. They are widely available at 40-156 damage and 2.0 speed. Doing 50% damage a shot than you currenlty do will certainly help yougain XP more rapidly.
I am not familiar with Talus so can't recommend MOBs there. If you have trapping 3 you can use a phecnacine dart. They slow down MOBs a lot and can be very useful to a solo person.

I have been looking for a good FWG (or anythingbetter than a scout) but have not come across on yet on Valcyn. Most of the FWG I have found are 20ish-130 with speeds of 3+. Also, since I am trying to save points for my other professions, I have not been working up the trap line.
Thanks for the suggestions though.
PS: If any weaponsmiths on Talus are reading this and have some nice damage, low speed FWG's send me an ingame email with yourvendor location.
I also started my career soloing on Talus, but moved to Tatooine shortly before finishing my pistol skill tree in marksmanship. I found that running cross country between Mos Eisley and Mos Espa had an abundant number of blues and whites with very few deep reds. Unlike Talus the landscape is alot more open and has nowhere near the number of deadly aggros in large groups. Also you might find a larger market of weapons available on Tatooine since it most likely holds a larger population. I did not start findingsuperiorpistolsuntil I left Talus. I am on Starsider and the population density may be a bit different for you.
Either way hope this helps a bit
On Talus I like killing torturs (use warning shot). They dont' cooperate, have only modest protection, and oodles of xp. Kimas were fun to kill (are they fast now) and sometime huf duns (but they cooperate)
On Tatooine, I like any sort of bantha, and cannibal dewbacks (specifically cannibals, for they don't seem to cooperate, have a lot of HAM, but low armor). However, SW tatooine around Jabba's place can get pretty dangerous.
Bleed shot, body shot, warning shot, and lately pistol whip (yay!) are my tools of choice.
One word. Pistol whip. Get Melee Defense 1, then goto Dathomir. Kill 'dem biz natches. Make credits too!

Warning shot's pretty cool. Very useful for soloing. If an aggro mob starts chasing you hit it with a warning shot then peace. It will usually run away... hence 'warning shot'
