Thread: Pistoleer Macro Ideas
Here's some macros I've been fiddling around with lately. Feel free to share your macros too! ![]()
You can copy text in the macro editor with the Ctrl+Ins key combination and you can paste that text with the Shift+Ins combination. You can change the keys you want to do these actions in-game in the Options -> Controls -> Keymap -> Chat tab.
StoppingShot-Melee: I mostly use this with my 1.1 speed Scout Blaster. StoppingShot seems to add a small delay to the following shot so my slower FWG5 can't seem to keep up with the knockdowns before the enemy has a chance to attack back.
/follow;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /stoppingShot;
BodyShot3-Melee: I mostly use this with my FWG5 when my Scout Blaster gets low on condition and needs repairing (/pistolMeleeDefense1 seems to eat up your pistol's condition really quickly). The BodyShot3's don't do nearly as much damage as StoppingShot but they are focused on the Health bar and don't add that annoying delay after the shot like /stoppingShot does.
/follow;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3;
/pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3; /pistolMeleeDefense1; /BodyShot3;
Spamming BS3 or StoppingShot: I personally use a macro to spam either BS3 or Stopping Shot 20x. There shouldn't be a need to explain how to do that hehe. Just be sure to have a key to clear your combat queue in case you need to do some other action quickly (like healing yourself mid-battle).
Healing: I am also a medic, and use this simple command to heal myself. Just using "self" makes it so you don't have to change the current target to yourself. You can also use your first name in place of "self" but... why? ![]()
/healdamage self
Notes:
This web page seems to be a good resource to find out some information about various special moves: http://www.swgcenter.com/info/SpecialMoves.asp
The most interesting thing I found is BodyShot2 has a damage multiplier of 3, while BodyShot3 has a damage multiplier of 4 (both with a time multiplier of 2). The weird thing is it says StoppingShot has a damage multiplier of 3 (with time multiplier of 2.5) but from my experience, the damage seems to be able to get much higher then that... Er, I guess that's what the "Increased damage" in the description refers to.
wow thats some good stuff...i just posted a macro topic as you posted this :-P
curious tho, how do you clear your combat queue by the CLI?
No it's definitely /heald self. I use /heald <myname> but I didn't know about "self" before. I think macros can have spaces.
swg resource center seems very wrong on its specials costs/bonuses. Check other threads in this forum for actual research into the true numbers.
WandererOfBloodfin, to clear the combat queue I'd suggest doing the following:
1. Go to Options -> Controls -> Keymap -> "ui".
2. Click on "Clear Combat Queue" in the list.
3. Click "Rebind".
4. Choose a key to clear the queue. I use the tilde key (~) the one to the left of the numbers. By default, tilde is the "use target" command, but I changed that to the 'u' key since I clear my combat queue much more then I ever use the "use target" function.
Alternatively you can cilck the "Clear" button in the combat queue window when you're in combat, but I think that'd be too cumbersome mid-fight.
Flick34, actually "/healdamage" is the command and "self" is a parameter for the command.
So "/healdamage self" will heal yourself and "/healdamage Bob" will heal some guy named Bob.

If you have your stats migrated well and use a low HAM gun like a scout you can spam specials all day and not need to rest. In fact spamming specials leads to less downtime, because my action bar heals a lot faster than my health bar.
Since I have pets, though, I don't need to spam specials most of the time. When I'm soloing and the pets are doing their job I just autoattack cuz it's less effort on my part.
I spam specials, but then again I don't have pistol whip. I'll take that into consideration.

I dont know how to do the quote things so
**If you have your stats migrated well and use a low HAM gun like a scout you can spam specials all day and not need to rest**
So that leads me to more questions.
1) scout blaster gets resisted by VERY many creatures, especially the higher end ones so you do FAR FAR less damage. hit for 200 in combat box and actually only do 80 normaldamage or less.
2) even with a scout, my speed is 97 right now, andif i spam specials on something with 10,000 hps (thats my level creatures now) Im gonna run out of ham before they will.
3) on most creatures you have to find their weakness such as acid or heat etc. then use the weapon that corresponds with the weakness. Scatters and DX2's arent the best special requirementson action, like around 50 i believe. FWG5 isnt too bad but if you are fighting ummmm those little lizards on Dantooine they are armor rating 2, 75% resist to everything EXCEPT acid so you have to use acid on it if you want to win... If you spam specials on it you will run out of action before it dies.
I still dont follow the *spamming specials* thing. What do yall fight and where? Do you examine it for weaknesses? What is your stamina? I fight on Dantooine, I always examine and pick the pistol for its weakness, and my stamina is 400 (wont go any higher becauseim trandoshan). I usually fight in normal clothes unless its godly then i put on composite just till the fight is over and i revert back to clothes to regen.
Just tryin to see how others play and try to figure the logic of it out.

hm I think the main thing that will answer my questions is just:
----where are you fighting, and what are you fighting.
----what is your stamina.
If i know those 2 things then I will be able to figure everything else out.

I don't have /pistolmeleedefense1, so this is what I use:
1. /woundshot2;/woundshot1;/bodyshot2;/healdamage self;
then I spam this one
2. /bodyshot2;/bodyshot2;/bodyshot2;/healdamage self;
can't wait for pistol whipping.

Why do yall use nonstop specials?
I just pistol whip and fire like 9-13 normal shots because they still havent got up yet then ill do it again. Overall you win the fight with less action gone and your weapon will last far longer because you used a million less specials... If you chain specials you will have to sit and rest after 1 fight that you killed fast why? to rest?...
I dunno maybe im missing something but I prefer to just stay consistent and fight normally.
Plus if you are fighting ondantooine and something has resists to everything except acid and you chain specials with a dx2 you will run out of life before the target will. I just use pistol whip to knock it down then just fire for a little bit then knockdown again.
