What skill level gives you ability to use Republic Blaster?

I have 0-1-4-1 and can't seem to use one.

Any professioncan use the republic blaster no matter what skills. There is no cert for it. As long asit was made post-patch (5? I think) then you can use it.

I've just re-started with a new character and have to grind my way back up the Marksman tree again. The Republic Blaster is great for this.

Being a complete n00b as far as skills and certs go, the Rep let's me one shot most of the low level mobs (meatlumps and so-on) and gives me around 115xp per kill.

It's a great starting gun, but I did find that later on, it's a bit ropey. The HAM costs are quite high on it so I tended to use an FWG5 for most of my day to day work.

JustG, 04 Feb 04: "Lucas and SOE agreed that Publish 6 would be focussed on the Imperial Crackdown. Droids are not the MAIN focus. We plan on implementing combat droids in P7, and Utility Droids in P8."

Shhhhhh! don't let the devs know or they will nerf it and only master pistoleers will be able to us it? J/K.....they already know.....it is kind of strange they have let it go this long without a certification though....even characters with no combat professions can use this gun.

Anyone else find it vaguely humerous that any profession can use this pretty decent weapon, whereas they *force to delete* some "pre-nerf" FWG5 crates which I know very little about, except that they aren't "all that" anyways?
