Thread: Column 3 defenses?

Can anyone confirm that the defensive bonuses in column 3 have any effect? My character is actually a commando, but I used some leftover skill points to get pistoleer 0-0-4-0 on top of it, thinking it would complement my other skills nicely. However, I haven't seen a lick of difference as far as getting koncked down & dizzy goes. Maybe I'm just very unlucky, but it seems to me that with a 55 vs knockdown and 40/47 vs dizzy I'd have a better chance of fending those things off.

I remember reading that the Defense vs State skill mods don't make you more resistant to the State, but make it so the State doesn't last as long. So, a +20 Defense vs Blind won't make you more resistant to Blind, but the next time you get Blinded it will wear off faster.


I don't know how true that is, but it seems like it's very plausible.

Dont forget. You must be using a pistol to gain those defences.


If you're using a FT or Rocket launcher they have no effect.

Yes! this is the reason why.....gotta have the right weapon equipped for mods to work. This goes for any mod that is profession specific only. it's been debated whether def vs *** mods stack too. Also, I just read a few days ago that there is always a 10% chance that def vs *** mods won't work even if you have very high mods. not a bug, it is by design and I kinda agree because no matter how good a person's defense is, there is always a chance that they can get knocked down, dizzied, stunned...etc. No one is 100% immune to things like that.
