Thread: Is stoping shot supposed to be a kd

hi

i've read the description of stoping shot and it seems to suggest thats its a kd, i've never kd when useing it. is it broken or am i wrong.

I never got such a notion from the description that it's a KD. It seemed ot me like it ought to be a 1 hit kill shot hehe...



But no as far as I remember its never been and is NOT a knockdown in any form.

if it is it never has... I think stopping shot is suppose to stop the person in there tracks for a sec or two.. But as usual it doesnt do what it says it does...

stop the target for a few seconds?

like the smuggler special

stoping shot = stoping target from attacking?

To me, "stopping shot" should be like the"warcry" that brawlers get. A solid hit from a stopping shot should "delay your target for 10 seconds". Brawlers all use dizzy/KD on NPCs or players, and KD/warcry on creatures to get 'em down, and keep 'em there for a few seconds. If stopping shot had the same effect for use, that'd be great!

yes. On occasion it will stop the target for a couple seconds. It gives the most damage of any other shot. The only thing it does consistantly is give the most damaging shot out of the shots we have as pistoleers.

Ive yet to figure out when it will work, its probably broken like all the other pistoleer shots

i get the impression it should be similar to warcry or panic shot when i read the description, hopefully it will be fixed/turned into that kind of special in the combat revamp. just that 1 fix would make pistolieer ALOT better.

Stopping Shot used to be a one hit killer back in the day, when PVP was actual damage...That's long gone though lol



I think Stopping Shot should be a simple posture down attack...That would "stop the oppent in their tracks" and would be great in conjunction with panic shot...I think that Pistoleers should get a 3-5 second delay with Disarming Shot 1, and a 10 second, single target delay that hits for a good piece of damage at Disarming Shot II...Maybe make the Point Blank shots cause bleeding..and make Multi Target Pistol Shot like Fan Shot, but make it target one pool at a time...Like if you were fighting a PVP group, you could spam it and it would be attacking Health on one person, and maybe mind or action on a another...Make it hit for about the same as Fan Shot...


I'm convinced that a posture down that actually sticks (unlike *cough* Low Blow *cough*), would be a perfect fix for Stopping Shot...

Low blow nearly always sticks for me, if it hits that is.

I was playing some pvp and i noticed stopping shot delayed them for 10 seconds. Never has happened during PvE.

isnt that what fan shot does already ? If you check your combat spam, Fan Shot is displayed as if you used a special oncesfor every person in the AOE, that means the HAM attackcan bedifferent for each person hit.


as for stopping shot - I always assumed it was like Threaten shot, it stops the target running at you for a short period, doesnt stop them shooting though - thats what panic shot is for. Either way its not very usefull if you have last ditch

Stopping Shot is supposed to be a pretty icon that allows you to fill up toolbar space. It serves no other useful purpose.
