Thread: A problem it looks like I am going to run into...

I have am going for master pistoleer+the pistol tree for bounty hunter (a really good combo). It looks like I am going to be running into a problem with this though.
Currently I have 18 skill points free, I can free enough to get 29 free.
Master pistoleer requires me to have 31 more skill points free. So I need to find 2 somewhere.
The only other class I have is NOVICE medic besides the prerequsites for BH (which I think is a must (novice medic)). What do I do? Do I drop novice medic and hope that there are skill tapes for medicine use? (Does anyone know if there are skill tapes for medicine use?) Decisions decisions, let me know if anyone has any ideas on what to do... Thanks!

its a tough call, im in the same situation. It really comes down to how you play if you PvE alot or like to PvP solo id dump torso shot.
If you're into the group PvP or groupPvEthen dump medic and rely on someone else to help. I, liking to solo, dumped torso shot since i have skill tapes to make up for the loss of accuracy and its worked out great. Just make sure if you keep medic get some Bio clothes with wound and injury treament mods to boost your stims to something actually useful.

Its hard to say really, I don't know what kind of player you are and what your style is, I PvE mostly and never go hunting without full buffs and my armor ready if I need it, so medic doesn't really come into the equation too much. Thats just me. If you group alot then dump it definitely and let the group medics do the work thats their job anyway.

When i had that template, dropping medic was worth it for torso shot. But i was only for PvP (so I was always buffed). You wont lose to much PvE anyways...should be able to walk through tuskan fort by yourself using fan shot....

That is the exact template I use. I am Master Pistoleer, BH Pistol 3, novice medic. With that template I am well over the speed cap. I believe all you need for the cap is Pistol Speed 99 which you can get with BH Pistol2. I use the Novice Medic a lot because I PvP solo a lot, and not always buffed. The heal is nice for the HAM cost I get. But with the new revamp of the HAM cost in the next publish, the medic may not be necessary.
My advice is this, if you really want to test it out, Novice Medic is nothing to get back...150cr if i remember, so drop it and get to BH Pistol 4 and see if it is worth losing the heal. If you miss the medic skill then drop the BH stuff and visit your local Medic trainer.

I may be wrong but I think you have to have Novice Medic to use any medical skill. A medical skill tape is not enough.

Rylan is absolutely right, you could have all the med skill tapes in the world( if they exsisted/worked) but without the skill /heal or /tend they are totally useless. It's like hopin pistol speed tapes will give you PMD2 because you would have the equiv in speed as the box those skills come in.

Poison cure paks can be used by most people with pharmacology IV if you looked at just medicine use alone. but yet only doctors get teh actual heal poison skill...... just to reinforce the point....

I'd say dropping medic is a bad idea. Unless you normally do everything buffed......
Or like to clone war PVP alot where all you'll really live long to get use out of is a neutron pixie anyway hehe...

BH Pistol IV is not worth losing Nov Med, at this point IMHO. The torso shot is nice, it targets health and has had a fire DoT. The dot isn't as powerful as FT dot, and even weaker after latest publish. With master Pistoleer you will hit the 1sec speed cap and BH Pistol 2 (and have Eyeshot). So, getting that extra speed does nothing for you, unless you haven't mastered Pistoleer yet. Anyway, just my thought.

If you REALLY must have Master Pistoleer, then I'd keep the Novice Medic and take as many skill boxes of the BH Pistol line as you can. At one time, I had a BH 0-0-4-0 and Pistoleer 0-0-4-2 template (+103 speed, and Stopping Shot, this was before they made Fan Shot into AOE). I could hit anything at 64m while moving and missing about 1 shot in 100. Blinded. 
Ok, so maybe that's an exaggeration, but it's close to the truth. I also had Medic 0-0-4-0, so I could use Stim Ds to heal myself back to full after I'd burn out all my action spamming things down with Stopping Shot from a Scatter Pistol.
edit: Eh, I just checked a character builder, and apprently I couldn't remember the exact template I had, not to mention I was mistaken in thinking that the second box in the Combat XP line would be +103 speed with that template. It's only +97 speed, so I screwed up remembering it somewhere. But it was close to that template.
