Thread: CU Info, for the Gunslingers.

im not sure i understand completly. does this mean Goodbye to GEo stun blasters basically ? :-/
should we sell off our stun stuff. Will the crazy 600 dmg guns go byebye? < scared > :-/ lol

CU Information


I'd recommend reading through the entire thing, but the changes that really affects us pistoleers, I'd say are;



  • A character's maximum health will increase with the character's combat level up to 300%. New character health will be 1000, maxed character health will be 3000.

  • The following profession trees will be modified by adding and removing new special abilities to bring them in line with the new system: Marksmen, Medic, Brawler, Scout, Riflemen, Pistoleer, Carbineer, Bounty Hunter, Smuggler, Commando, Pikeman, Swordsman, Fencer, Jedi, TKA, Doctor, Combat Medic.

  • Players that have skill boxes in one of these affected professions will be allowed a skill re-spec for their character. This does not include the force sensitive skills. (A re-spec is short for "respecify". It is the chance to choose new skills for your character).

  • Special actions will follow a more traditional "3 phase" execution: Wind-up, Execution, and Cool-down. Certain actions don’t have a windup and will execute instantly.

  • All weapons will do a base damage of type of two possible types: "Kinetic" or "Energy". Several weapons will do additional elemental damage of one of the following types: "Heat", "Cold", "Acid", "Electrical".

  • Wearing advanced armor will apply de-buffs to your character such as slower movement, accuracy penalties, etc. Armor with basic cores will not apply de-buffs.

  • New Prerq's: Pistoleer = Marksman, Pistol Specialization Tree (4 boxes), Marksman Ranged Support Tree (4 boxes)

  • (Bounty Hunter = Marksman Ranged Support Tree (4 boxes), Scout Exploration Tree (4 boxes) )

Additonally, armour will recieve strict rules for what kind of extra resists to anything bar kinetic and energy they have (and weapons will be modified so that, say, a DX2 does energy + acid damage), no more all around stats. And adding extra defense layers for say acid,to those will slow down your movement speed. Sounds like fun


But it's verybasic and there's no specific on things like weapon speed and the speed formula in general...

armor is all changing the old stuff is supposed to get changed to new system equivelents so I would not get rid of stun armor.

There is going to be a conversion process for all current items so don't get rid of anything. You might regret it if you do.

yes, there will be a conversion.

Great stuff will remain great, good stuff remain good etc etc...but any unbalancing weapons like thsoe 5000 damage power hammers will probably be scaled down farther than their owners would like.

Actually, regarding Geo stun where are they?


Kinetic or Energy plus Elemental... what happened to the Stun?

Somehow I think Ill waste two months trying to get uber krayt Tissues for my de10 schem and yellow barrel and only after the CU I will have it crafted.


Lucky I still have some lame tissues and a white barrel so I will have an acceptable DE10 for these two months!

If you look at the Geo's profile it says it fires a plasma shot in an energy bubble I believe. If that's the case I'd say it will be energy damage with Heat or Acid damage. More likely Heat imho....

I like it, never liked stun damage. Stun should STUN you, not kill you. Can't wait to see PvP become more than Jawa Rifle vs. Stun Baton duels.

This should make things interesting, now that you actually have more to think about when you equip a gun. I just can't wait to wear the new armor. I'd much rather do an energy or kinetic base with elemental added on than what is going on now. Shooting acid 64 m never made much sense to me.

Yeah, I used to have similar thoughts about ranged acid weapons, until I started thinking of them as if they were paintball pellets filled with acid. If you've ever played paintball, those little balls filled with paint hurt like a son of a b*** when they hit you. I can only imagine them filled with concentrated sulfuric acid, or the stuff the aliens bleed in the Alien movies.

The word acid is used a little inappropiately from what I understand. The DX-2 and DXR-6 are Disruptors that affect material on a cellular level, essentially breaking it apart - sort of like how acid eats through material. From what I've read, Disruptors pass through shields with no problem because they are energy, not material... not quite sure on the exact science of that.

so buying a good weapon on my trade forum now won't be the worst decision I could make? there's a GREAT DE-10 that I want but I'm not keen on buying it nowonly to get screwed in a month.
