Thread: Would you like duel wield even if....
Espcially if the "extra gun" was a copy of your main gun. I want to use 2 DE10's. that will look so smooth. It would also be cool if they made twirling flourishes. Heck, i would even pay an action HAM cost for the cool graphic...

It was just art and looked as if you had two guns but really worked the same as if you have one? It could be like an option. At novice MM you get to pick right or left handed then at master you can pick duel wield if you choose. I think this would be awesome.
In a word, yes.
Actually, the idea of allowing the choice of Left or Right is more interesting to me than Dual Wielding... Not that I'd be upset to see us get it!

I'd definitely like the option to chose handedness. But speaking as someone who's actually been trained to fire a pistol...Dual-Weild should come with a -100 accuracy penalty (at least), and no option to /aim.
thing is about starwars.. it's fantasy ![]()
plus the pistols are energy based - not kinetic - so there should be no kickback, so I wouldn't put such a drastic negative spin on accuracy. It is moderately more difficult to track a target with both arms and pull your trigger fingers, than it is with just 1 and using the other for a brace (try running around downtown and doing this.. it's not that hard (lol)).
tracking multiple targets on the otherhand - is quite hard - but then again, we're assuming we're master pistoleers (that should get the ability to dual wield), and have spent 'a lifetime' mastering the art of the pistol...
I would be ok if there was a large negative accuracy modifier applied do novice pistoleer, and that modifier steadily decreased to a manageable level as you progressed to master pistoleer..
for game/balance issues I'm not certain how the damage would work, and not overpower the pistoleer profession - but I would think you would have to apply limitations on dual wielding - using the same type of gun, double the recovery time from special moves (but make the specials more spectacular), and have a manageable accuracy penalty, and maybe a very slight speed penalty ie: single handed - you fire 1 shot per second, dual wield, you fire 2 shots per 3 seconds (but still do more damage (since you would infact be shooting 4 times in 3 seconds : with an accuracy penalty). That's no penalty you might say.. but it's better than shooting 6x in 3 seconds ![]()
Having said that.. duel wielding should not be a manditory thing for pistoleers. dual wielding should give you the potential to do greater damage, at a percieved slower rate. ie: doing 1000 damage with single handed might take you 2 specials (2 seconds), dual wield - 1000 damage in 1 special, that takes 2 seconds. Then there would be more flexibility in the system. single handed - you get a chance to hit an attack twice (better odds, plus better accuracy). You can miss one of your two attacks in that timeframe and still do damage to your target, but with dual wield, you miss and.. well you miss ![]()
edit:
oh yea.. and would I like dual wield if it was only a graphical change?
yes ... but there's no reason for it to only be a graphical change ![]()
