Yes, they changed that in the patch.

Same happens with poison (not so sure about flames)

It was in the patch message for a change, you should have read it

But there is still something buggy with this...yep, try Fire DOTs, they are just WORSE than ever.

Here, the strong minded ppl will just ask "why ?"

bah, because of wounds, yes it is. Reason is wounds Fire DOTs cause are directly in the Health bar, just like the DOT dmg itself. Dunno why but because of these wounds (game surely check your remaining Health pool, then apply wounds and THEN apply dmg) you are incaped.

Ok, this is annoying enought but NOT the real issue...the real one is the "grace period" being removed. Now, you are instantly incaped as soon as you stand back up.

Basically, someone fire doted on Tatooine is dead, no chance at all to survive. I've stated this countless time, still no reply nor any comment...I even got PM from BH and Commandos begging me to stop stating this.

Bah, I never did it again, I hate to see ppl begging

I noticed it on NPCs the other night, too...would bleed down to 1 health but wouldn't die until I shot him again.

What's the rationale for the "drop down to 1" bit, anyhow? I'm sure there's a good reason behind it, but can't figure out what it is offhand....

Don't quote me on this but if I remember correctly, i read that they made this change because of the doc's poison which was causing a perma incap because it lasted so long. Since it's considered to be a DoT, all DoT's changed to keep this one from causing the Perma incap. I believe that's the way it was when I read it.

Anyone notice now that if you bleed a character, it will only bleed them to 1 and will not kill them anymore unless you shoot them again? I remember before the patch I could bleed someone tough with HS1 and HS2 and feign death until they died, now I have to get up and shoot them one more time to kill them. Not a big deal, just wondering if anyone else noticed this.

This was in the monthly patch notes, but it I believe it was only listed under Combat Medic.

All DOT attacks now only bring you as low as 1 on whichever HAM bar they're effecting. This was put in place because Combat Medics were throwing poison from 90m away, waiting for the player to get incapped, then just jogging in and dealing the Deathblow. I think we've all had that happen to us, and can all agree that it was horribly unfair. The Combat Medics put up a huge stink over this, apparently they felt that poisoning an enemy down to 1 damage and then having to run in and shoot the enemy once is just too much effort.

I believe they applied this new DOT logic to everyone's DOT attacks because then they wouldn't have to make poisons run on a totally separate system from bleeds, fire, etc.

It was put in because it just didn't make any sense that a creature or character might bleed to death ...

No, wait, that did make complete sense. Right, that's why it was removed!

This was supposed to be a nerf to combat medics ... it was meant to prevent them from killing entire crowds of people with one area mind poison or whatever. Unfortunately it has side consequences for the rest of us. One thing I'd like to point out, though, is that our bleeds are the weakest of all the combat professions ... so while this change hurts us in PvE, it's probably a net gain for us in PvP.

To bad the Commando can still kill with flame. So being on fire will kill, but being poisoned and bleeding you can just stand there and not die from it. I have had a NPC triple bleeding and he killed me with 1/25/1 for ham for the last 30m when he walked to me.
