Yes, a Master Pistoleer + Master Fencer will have a huge Dodge number (plus a huge Melee Defence number, and huge Defence vs. X numbers). But do these really stack to be better than someone with the mods from one class alone?
I have been contributing to a thread, "FYI: Melee Defence Data," on the Fencer forum in which I post some Hit/Miss/Dodge stats.
On the positive side, I (Master Pistoleer) Dodged much more holding a sword at Brawler level than another poster who only has a few of the Fencer mods.
On the negative side, I did not Dodge noticeably more holding a Pistol at 0/0/1/3 Fencer than I did at Brawler. Furthermore, I always dodged more holding a Pistol than a sword.
What we really need is some dev to tell us exactly how all of this **edit** is supposed to work. O to be playing some D&D ruleset based game where you can just look up the rules and calculate exactly what attacks and defences are supposed to do.
Short of that, we need to find a Master Pistoleer + Master Fencer (good luck) who can gather data with both weapons attacking some mob, and then the rest of us who have one class or the other can do the test on the same mob and compare results.
Tullius,
Both the TKA Correspondent and I have asked the Devs for information on how defenses work. No response.
In the meantime, the data I have indicate that the Fencer and Pistoleer Dodge bonuses do not stack. Much more testing is needed, however.
